Hull City have already missed out on two transfer targets due to lack of funds It's likely to be a difficult January for Hull City boss Nigel Adkins please log in to view this image Hull City have already missed out on two of their January targets due to a lack of funds, head coach Nigel Adkins has revealed. City are eager to do business when the transfer window opens next week as they bid to continue their climb up the Championship table but Adkins has already met with early frustration on his recruitment drive. Although two targets had been identified to join on loan, the Tigers have found themselves unable to compete with the offers made by rival clubs. Adkins chose not to reveal who the players were that City had missed out on but the head coach’s admission points towards another testing transfer window. “We had a recruitment meeting on Thursday,” explained City’s boss. “There’s two people we looked at and would have liked to have brought in. They could only be done on loan, but they have gone to other clubs. “We could not get anywhere near with the finances. That is where we are. We have to understand that. “When we see talented players go to other clubs, you think ‘Ok, there you go.’ But you know what they have gone for, financially wise. We cannot compete in that ball park. That’s life. Agent fees, loan fees, the whole package. “We are looking in the right areas. But it cannot happen and that is just the way it is and we do not beat ourselves up about it.” Adkins has already made it clear that he does not expect to receive any financial backing in January as the Allam family continue a frugal approach ahead of a potential sale in the New Year. City will be able to bring in two loan players to join Tommy Elphick, Chris Martin and Todd Kane but any permanent additions would likely mean bodies are offloaded. The greatest fear is losing either Jarrod Bowen or Kamil Grosicki, two wingers key to City’s upturn in fortunes, but Adkins would be open to moving on fringe players, such as Will Keane, Nouha Dicko and the fit-again James Weir. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-already-missed-out-2359549
Hull City in missed transfer target shocker. At least we won't have 4 weeks of speculation, we know we are signing literally nobody.
Always thought that nobody would be arriving its more abut who's going for me, more worried that Adkins and the squad good work of late will be undone by the toxic two and there greed, Elphick is possibly going back to Villa, then there's Bowen, Grosicki, Henriksen and Irvine who imo must have come to the notice of other clubs, if this does occur then we are in deep ****.
He's probably who we'll get, he's not played a game since early April and will just be getting match fit when the season ends.
Have we missed out on Bashful & Doc who turned us down in favour of less humiliating Pantomime performances? At least Lee will have five other targets up his sleeve. Think I may be getting mixed up between threads.
A recruitment meeting on Thursday eh ! Nige. Can we sign anyone ? Lee. No Nige. What the **** do you do around here. Lee. I don’t know. Mainly nothing. Must have been ****ing riveting.
You'd think if he ("Lee") had anything about himself, he'd have sacked it off by now. What's the point of him being here?
Easy job, only works a few days a year, pays okay, only works a few days of the year, does as the 'boss' says, not have to make any decisions, bit of a whipping boys, only has to ' work ' a few days of the year, every penny he saves goes on his bonus ...
His cheque at the end of the month? He literally has the easiest job in the world, he's a head of recruitment at a club where there is no recruitment.
Ridiculous posts. How about league one and two teams or other skintchampionship clubs. They have to work harder because of a **** budget. It's why we take punts on McDonald etc. it will be hugely frustrating for darnborough. Imagine unearthing a gem and then you find out his agent ups the money to attract bigger clubs.
