Bugger off, young 'un. I managed to keep my usual pedantry in check! I note you don't mention whether Moore, Peters and Hurst are playing so hopefully they are out injured. The loathing of West Ham makes me smile. They used to be one of my favourite non-Saints team. I was living in London by 1966 and knew a load of East end lads, some of whom didn't kill people, or even maim them. WHU winning the World Cup made them nationally loved, plus the first time those WC winners came to The Dell we beat them 6-2, making Saints World Champions. Noble has changed my view of them. COYR
The very lovely Mrs Godders has just told me that I am a miserable old sod and that I haven't wished anyone a merry Christmas yet this year. So here I am suitably chastised to wish you all a very merry Christmas (non of that ****ing Chrimbo bullshit from me) and a happy new year.
Same to you you miserable bugger. If truth be known I am taking note of your demeanour as I strive to be just like you in a few years I think Victor Meldrew is an inspiration to you and I. Happy Christmas
Happy Chrimbo you irascible old goat. Same to the rest of you long suffering Saints fans, plus any skates, spuds etc, or anyone else looking in from other, lesser clubs.
Fat Sam, The Porn Brothers, Carroll, Nolan and Brady have changed my view of them. I really liked the 70s and 80s Hammers.
Just like you, Fats, I used to love West Ham (so much so that I married a girl from the East End), but, recently, I just can’t stand them and all they stand for. And, to save me posting a separate message - a very Merry Christmas and Happy (successful, peaceful and less aggravating) New Year to all of you on here, as well as any Saints fan around the world!
"Impressive Southampton win again" I keep reading this on the BBC website and have to check that they really mean us.
Merry Christmas to y'all from North Carolina Saints Supporter(s) Club. May the winning continue and we all have a happy and prosperous new year.
Me too. I think we may only win by 2 goals, rather than the 3 goals that the logical sequence should follow that someone posted here 3-2, 3-1, 3-0
Thanks so much for such a general and thoughtful message. I too join with you and all who get that special feeling when talking about The Saints. Whatever has happened this emotional tie never truly breaks and it's always great to be part of The Anthem at SMS, which other club supporters have 'nicked' but never sing with the same passion!! Happy Christmas everyone and let's enjoy the ride that has started!!
The alternative is we put all our chances away and win 5-0... That would make my season! Specially west-ham..
