While at Loftus Road, the striker managed just one league goal in 11 appearances which led to a loan at Portman Road in 2012, during which he hit the ground running and scored 10 in 17 games. Sadly no permanent deal was ever worked out and he spent time with Blackburn and Millwall, but is currently without a club. Damien Delaney The Irish defender made more than 50 appearances for the Loftus Road club, after signing from Hull, but was sold to the Blues in July 2009 for around £750,000. His time at Portman Road was mixed, with his best displays coming at centre-back rather than left back, where he started his Ipswich career, but he made more than 100 appearances before departing by mutual consent in the summer of 2012. He joined Crystal Palace, where he is now playing in the Premier League. Brian Murphy Ryan Frasers (far right) watches as his free kick drops into the net behind Luke Chambers and Portsmouth keeper Brian Murphy to level the score at two each in the Ipswich Town v Portsmouth (FA Cup) match at Portman Road, Ipswich, on 09 January 2016. Picture: Steve Waller www.stephenwaller.com Irishman Murphy was one of many goalkeepers to have a shot between Ipswich Town’s sticks at the end of the last decade, making 25 appearances in all competitions for the Blues between January 2010 and August 2011. He moved to QPR that summer, where he has started just once in the league since and is currently on loan at Portsmouth. Tamas Priskin The Hungarian was a £1.7m signing for Roy Keane in the summer of 2009, but never fully hit the heights his price tag demanded as he scored just five league goals in more than 50 appearances. He did, however, score a memorable goal as the Blues beat Arsenal 1-0 in the first-leg of their Carling Cup semi-final. QPR was one of three clubs he played for while out on loan from Portman Road, before joining Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz. He’s now with Gyori in his homeland but could be playing at the European Championships in France this summer. Kieron Dyer A born and bred Ipswich player, Dyer made more than 100 appearances for the Blues before being sold to Newcastle for £6million in the summer of 1999, where he became a full England international and represented his country in the 2002 World Cup. please log in to view this image Kieron Dyer (left), pictured celebrating a goal for former club QPR with Junior Hoilett He moved to West Ham as injuries took hold in the latter days of his career, before moving to QPR where he managed just five appearances after suffering a knee injury just three minutes into his debut. He was ultimately released by Harry Redknapp. Frank Clarke Forward Frank Clarke played more than 100 games for both Shrewsbury (1961-68) and Carlisle 1973-78) but, between the two, turned out more than 65 times for both Rangers and the Blues. He scored 15 goals in 66 games during his time at Portman Road, with 17 coming in 67 while at Loftus Road. Chris Kiwomya Following an impressive career with the Blues, which included promotion to and then relegation from the Premier League, Kiwomya headed to Arsenal but then spent time abroad with Le Havre in France and Selangor in Malaysia. Upon his return, he signed for Rangers and was part of a side which won 4-1 at Portman Road in October 1999, with Jim Magilton sent off. Georges Santos The former Grimsby man spent just one season at Portman Road, in 2003/4, but was an unlikely member of a team which made the Division One play-offs before losing to West Ham. He moved on to QPR in the summer and made 75 appearances before finishing up his career with Brighton, Oxford and Farsley. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas There will be no reunion with Ipswich for JET, after he was loaned to MK Dons at the end of the January transfer window. He showed plenty of promise but little consistency during his time at Portman Road, which ultimately led to him moving to Bristol City in a swap deal with Paul Anderson. He was part of the City side which won League One last season but spent long spells on the bench, before moving to Loftus Road. Massimo Luongo The Aussie is likely to take on Ipswich tomorrow, having spent a loan spell at Portman Road under Paul Jewell in the early part of 2012/13. He struggled for game time and saw his loan cut short shortly after Mick McCarthy took over as boss and returned to Tottenham. He then moved to Swindon, initially on loan, before making the move permanent, and reached the League One play-off final last season where the Robins lost 4-0 to Preston. That was enough for him to move to Loftus Road in a multi-million pound deal. The highlight of his career, though is undoubtedly the MVP award at the 2015 Asian Cup, as he led Australia to victory on home soil and was eventually named on the shortlist for the Ballon D’or. Match preview; Rangers looking for three wins on the bounce QUEENS PARK RANGERS will be looking for their third straight victory when facing the bottom of the league Ipswich Town on Boxing Day. The R’s, fresh from a historic win against Nottingham Forest, will be hoping to heap more misery on the Tractor Boys who have won just two league games this season. Things have not gone to plan for the East Anglian outfit since they departed with Mick McCarthy earlier on in this year. His replacement Paul Hurst was sacked less than five months into the job and they have now turned to the experienced Paul Lambert to help change their fortunes. And in the last two games, there have been signs that things could potentially turn around. A hard fought 1-0 victory over Wigan was backed up by a solid point against play-off hopefuls Sheffield United on the weekend. This will be the third time the two sides have met on Boxing Day during the last three years. It must be said the previous two fixtures have not been classics - with both matches finishing 0-0. The Tractor Boys have to go back almost nine years for their last win at Loftus Road with one of their former star men Daryl Murphy netting the winner.
Key wom ya wo o o o Key wom ya wo o o o He came from ar se naw He cost the R's fu call. I'm not posting on this thread anyway, so don't you try and engage me in conversation.
George Santos! Along with Rahman, one of the worst players to don The Hoops. Liked Priskin though. Definitely at home.
Should I change this for dave or just let general confusion reign? We're definitely at home......yes really....
Yes remember him stroller & did he play for Ipswich? Thought we got him from middlesboro? Wasn’t prolific for us & cant remember how long he was with us.
Best change in case some poor person misses the game! Not very likely with the erudite readers on here.
Had to look it up, but we signed him from Coventry. He was playing for Ipswich when I went to see Rangers play there in 1968 (I think). It finished 2-2 I believe, but could be wrong. We really need Bushman for this stuff.
Yes I've been on the sauce, if that sauce is travelling to see family with two kids under 3. It's not a sauce I'd recommend.
