I know some people will not take me serious, but I strongly believe that Lucas is good enough to play for: 1. Manchester United 2. Manchester City 3. Chelsea or 4. Any other top premiership club in the country. Let us start with previous Liverpool managers that love Lucas. 1.Rafa Benitez- During Rafa time Lucas was not as good as today; but Rafa Benitez believed in him and always defending him that "he is still young" 2.Roy Hodgson- Love to play him too,Roy never said anything to my knowledge either way or another about Lucas. 3.Kenny Dalglish- You can trust the judgement of Dalglish about Lucas, he got extended contract under Dalglish. So Lucas is good enough to play for any club in EPL. All for Lucas.
I would believe the judgement of every manager that has managed Lucas before believing a supporter of a rival. I would also believe the judgement of his team-mates. Lucas has come on leaps and bounds in the last 18 months, and he's stronger for the amount of stick he took. Some people would hide and sulk if they had recieved the stick he took, Lucas has never once complained. I would even say Lucas is as important to the Liverpool side as Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina and Stevie are.
He would get into MOST premier league teams with the exception of Manchester City who's midfield is unquestionably rock solid. However, I would not wish to see him in any other team, as he is a huuuge cog in the Liverpool wheel, and if he were to ever leave, i'd be in uproar!
Chelsea is deabateable if everyone was fit and what position you define Essien as, but I dont think he would get into Man City's ahead of Toure and de Jong (as much as I hate him).
The other clubs would agree as they would all (city?) buy him if they could, however, we might find that the dickhead fans of other clubs wont agree.
Agreed. Most clubs think that Lucas isn't good enough but we all know that he is playing excellent for us!
I tend to disagree with the point that he wouldn't get in Man Citys team. He would if they went with a system like this. Aguero Nasri Silva Toure De Jong Lucas. I wouldn't want Liverpool to sell Lucas to City, Okay maybe for Milner and Johnson and £80 million.
It's a shame he was made such a laughing stock before. If he had been signed last summer he would be getting huge praise (and not just from us fans). I really think he can be a top, top class defensive midfielder when he hits his peak. He is really growing when it comes to distribution and decision making and i think in a few years time we will be looking at the lynchpin of the Brazil team and a player worth £20-30million.
I certainly think hes at least equal to or better than all the below Carrick,Fletcher,Anderson,Barry,De Jong,Lampard,Ramires,Cleverley,Mikel,Meireles
He has proven a lot of the home support wrong including me i used to close my eyes when he go for the ball Like mentioned there are many clubs where the manager would love to have Lucas on his current form and last season And i do believe he would even be in the starting 11 in the top teams I see him even get the captain role 1 day for us
Agreed. Everyone also forgets when he signed we were comparing him to Masch, Xabi and Gerrard which was hardly fair! It's no surprise he didn't stand out!
OP - not being picky but it's Lucas Leiva not Leiva Lucas! I think the only team he might struggle to get in is Man City
I reckon he's up for the assistant skipper role when Carra reliquishes it. He's definitely going to be club skipper, he's earnt it.
Would he get into your bed? Why was my other thread closed? I wasn't expecting you to answer anyway as you're on you way up here to collect your 'Prize' aren't you?
I think he's more suited to away games though or as part of a central 3 at home. He's not creative enough when teams sit back against us but gives the rest of the team good cover when they bomb on.
