Elphick Stewart Bowen. Evandro changed the game when he came on. Adds a touch of class and quality that we lack with Irvine higher up.
Campbell Bowen Stewart I was going to put Elphick third, but after all the **** he’s received, I thought Stewart’s good performance deserved some recognition.
Tough one I'd say Bowen (Class) Grosicki (As much as his body language sometime annoys me......class when it comes to creating chances) Stewart (Gonna admit, was prepared to rip into him, but felt like he for once was everywhere and did a really good job) Feels harsh to leave out Campbell (love his attitude and especially one sequence when he hunted down the defender and somehow won a corner. Elphick very good as well, need a guy like him in the defence
Controversial....but 1 - Stewart - goal scorers will always get the glory but he was great today, got his foot in a lot and after the grief I and others have thrown his way deserves it 2 - Bowen - won't be here come Feb 1st 3 - Grosicki (40% frustratin 60% unplayable) honourable mentions for Elphick and Campbell tough to leave them both out
In the Christmas spirit, I never noticed Stewart. I did suggest we use to say that with Ash. He does the unnoticed stuff? Evandro coming on changed the game. Not sure it was anything he did, but maybe Nigel's tactical genius???
Never thought I’d post Stewart as MOTM - But there you are! Stewart Bowen Elphick Harsh on Campbell as he was again excellent. Leads from the front and helped set the tempo. A very mature lead by example performance.
Bowen Grosicki Stewart Two players who get a lot of stick in Grosicki and Stewart who deserve their nominations. Firstly, I am sure I read someone say that Grosicki never beats a man, I think he beat 9 in one game today. Stewart finally showing us there is a player in there.
Agreed, it's the same for me. Some of Stewart's work at both ends was very impressive tonight, there's definitely a player in there.
Evandro. Not sure what he did, but he changed the game. Maybe Nige needs some recognition? Kamil frustrating as ****, but his pace does create mayhem. Elphick
1. Stewart - as mentioned in the match thread his all round contribution was magnificent .. broke numerous attacks up and his passing game was excellent, worked his backside off for the cause and never stopped chasing. The longer the game went on the more he got involved .. best game in a City shirt by a country mile and i know the plaudits will go to Bowen for his goals and second half display but for me it has to be Stewart. 2. Elphick - heart of a still shakey defence (not helped by continuous personnel changes) but what he brings is experience, a leader and a willingneas to organise. Again he does the dirty stuff well. 3. Bowen - grew into the game the longer it went on .. and showed real character coming back from the penalty miss, his second goal was what he is all about .. pure quality. Grosicki Campbell and Irvine all get honourable mentions and could quite easily have got 3rd.
