I strongly disagree with this as he does it in effect by wandering out of position leaving a great big CB sized hole for the opposition to attack.
that's fair enough but that's him playing too.mich football. when you are looking at the players we have had. Klavan was terrible for just letting guys in behind him on little runs. lovren is a diver in and can lose people too.
The reason is irrelevant if it upsets the balance of the defence. I think Matip's wanderlust could be a big problem, unless he's been told to do it and someone is always on hand to cover. It seems unnecessary and a little undisciplined to me. There's just no reason to risk losing possession in open play with one of your CBs 40 yards away from his post.
my thought on this was that schalke played Matip as a no 6 at times and for me I don't think it's be ideal but I'm surprised klopp has not tried it with us.
done well (and rarely) it can be very effective as sides don't press cbs. if the no 6 steps in and covers they can carry the ball very effectively forward to break lines... but... the team mates need to expect it and offer the guy an out ball or two.
Does Rui Patricio really wear no.11? Haven't watched much Wolves this season. Wtf is that all about, he's a GK
have to say I'm happy enough with our team. windy away.. no thanks.s Henderson is in but without a rb then Milner has to do this thing
Team i expected except thought he might stick with Clyne just to ensure Milner fully fit but i suppose it might be they are not risking Clyne playing 2 so quickly after such a long time out.
Tough game in prospect, lots of physical tackles on our front players. Referee and weather are big factors too. I will be happy to get this one over
Fabinho has been prone to sloppy passes all season, one or two a game. Let's hope that's it for today!
Lovren needs to get to the ball before the CF. Clear tactic of whack up to the big name and Traore to run off him.
