We will sell Nicky Maynard in the January transfer window to a premiership team who are in the 5 or 6 below the top 4, it will be cash plus player. The reason will be based on the fact that we as a club will not be Premiership material for at least 3 more years and with the England squad now undergoing upheavals it may be the only opportunity to grasp a chance. PS favourites would be Bolton
I would not be suprised if this was the case, we need to recoup enough wonga to go and and buy another proven goal scorer. I am happy with Stead and Pitman, but I look at this summer and think we could have sold Maynard and bought Chopra or Sharp and been quids in. I know everyone hates them but isnt that because they are so good? They stick out because they always score past us.
We have 4 other stikers available, did fair last season although peeps panicked. If you assume all the results we finished with would have been anyway, but the fixtures were mixed up a bit more it would have been a boring season !!!! Whilst we have him we have to play him but need to blood up a permanent replacement Pitters Steady or Taylor for sure need to be there each week. A long hard look at the NPC over the past few days and reading a few reports from July onward ( been away for a few weeks) we will have a boring season methinks, the team is still just average lacking 5-6 key players of above average quality "I know everyone hates them but isnt that because they are so good? They stick out because they always score past us". Lummie true, probably say that about all the oppos striker s at the mo tho ! lol
I wonder when the Fester fans will arrive to spout their garbage Everton need a striker, they got a few bob now
So whats the latest with Maynard now guys?? Is he any nearer a new contract yet?.........I have realy lost all interest in his shananagans (what an excellet word!!!...and a bugger to spell!!) and got to the stage where I don't care if he signs or not now....as long as he puts a shift in of course. He has,no matter how we dress it up and hero worship him, held MY club to ransome and probably caused a certain amount of unrest in the camp. Should have snapped festers hand off last month imo......no single player is bigger than the club. Rant over
They've arrived now.. glad we got Beckford as he is a better player. Most Foxes fans wanted him over Maynard anyway.. only our Sven didn't it seems. McGivern will shine out as being pap due to his bright blonde hair - you'll soon recognise him.
No we were too obsessed getting that 'num-nut' who plays for you. He'll probably go and get injured now.
So you are obsessive, when you don't get what you want and so now you're calling Nicky Maynard foul names. It just demonstrates what an immature, spoilt load of brats you are when you don't get your own way.....
Well if he does get injured lets hope Becky makes a full and speedy recovery, would hate to see you using his misfortune as an excuse!!
Ermmm....Surely, no one will be buying Maynard in January, as he'll be free to walk then on a free. I wouldn't pay money for him in January when I'd get him for free after the summer.
If Nicky has scored 12-15 goals by end of December, some lower prem clubs would probably pay the money to get out of trouble... Caldicot, the bloke has a year to sign a contract yet, just reverse the position and ask yourself what would you do. The club has a manager in charge who is most definitely not getting the best out of the squad which could do SOOO much better. Lets face it, if you didn't have much faith in the manager, would you sign...???! Don't even waste your time telling me that you would... Bring in a decent man manager, a leader of men and I'm sure NM would waste no time in signing, in no way is he holding the club to ransom. This is not hero worship, just simple common sense...
I think teams would still make bids in January to up their chances of getting him, if he walks away on a free it will be a feeding frenzy and nobody will be able to assume they can get him. I would imagine 10 to 15 clubs would want him for free, most of the prem, anyone in CCC with a few bob, the relegated teams. It would be like Boothroyd leaving Cardiff, everyone would offer him a deal and he would get his pick. If someone was willing to stick in a £2m bid in January they might get thier man without having to fight it out with everyone else, it could be the difference between staying in the prem or going up, which is obviously worth a boat load more than a couple of million.
Really? is that what you think? how narrow minded! the facts are that if hes a free agent the compatition will grow and more club will be in for him, ruling a fair few out, for example, Blackburn want Maynard but because hes a free agent, Aston Villa are willing to take a risk on him... Blackburn have more chance of getting Maynard in january because they will need to pay a fee, something a bigger club wont do.
And just why would super shot Maynard want to sign for Blackburn? They will be in the bottom 3 of the prem in January and their subsequent relegation would see magnificent maynard playing in front of 12000 fans in the championship---I think he has refused to sign that contract of yours because he doesnt want to play in a poor team with 12000 fans any more. His gamble was to stay put until a prem team came in for him and none did and in January if Blackburns owners sell enough curry they may or may not offer money for him BUT it looks to me like he will see out his contract with you and leave for free at the end of the season. Do you think he will kiss the badge as you go down and he goes up?
If Maynard had any respect for your club he would have said "OK, I'm not going to sign a new contract but because you need the money and I love this club Ill leave for the £6.5m that is being offered so you can bring in a few good players"!!! Then again if your Chairman and Manager had any brains at all they would have been pushing for him to go so they could have the money to buy new players!
