If you want to see some history and are going to Preston be sure to use the bypass which was the first stretch of motorway in the UK and go see the bus station which was until fairly recently the largest one in the world. A monstrosity though. Got a mate who moved to Preston years ago and they are, apart from Tom Finney,the only things of note he can come up with about the place.

If you're going, take a look at the Splash. It's the Tom Finney statue behind the away end. It's based on a photograph taken in conditions that would get the game called off nowadays.
