United have pulled the trigger apparently. Good for them.

The game has passed him by.

Inevitable really but I get the feeling he is being lined up as a scapegoat.

There's something rotten at that club from top to bottom and whilst Jose has been engineering this (and the £11m payoff) for some time this won't, on its own, solve much in the short term.

It has mate. His tactics are shocking. Klopp, Emery, Guadiola have all moved the game on. He is static. The players signed under him for what, £200 million, are not even getting in the starting 11. Shocked at the timing but not surprised.

    Not surprising in the slightest.

Not one player has progressed with him as a manager. They've all either regressed or at best stayed static.

    He's a dinosaur nowadays.

Now I might be able to watch sky sports news without having to risk listening to one of his droning, mundane, spoilt schoolboy, idiotic, sore loser type whinges. I'd rather listen to a Ronnie Corbett monologue!

Poor recruitment was his main problem, wasting fortunes on the likes of Pogba and Sanchez. Not saying they're bad players but they've eaten up the wage budget when they could have bought better and cheaper.

He was never going to be a good fit for United with his negative tactics though, they need someone aggressive like Simeone to grab the club by the scruff of the neck and drag it forwards.

I wouldn't say Simeone is the man to bring aggressive attacking football either.

He's incredibly good at what he does, but not sure free flowing football is his thing.

I think Poch is the perfect candidate.

Third season... leaves club... lather, rinse, repeat!! Everywhere he’s been it’s been like that hasn’t it?

He will be successful fir his first couple then either walk away or be sacked. Crazy letting him have the extra year on his contract

I haven't seen Atletico much recently with not having BT but the times I have seen them they've been banging the goals in and playing lovely football.

I meant aggressive more in the sense of being a big character, unifying the club and not taking any **** rather than playing style though.

Aye Poch would do well for them I'm sure and Eddie Howe would be an interesting wildcard choice, it's just a hunch but I think he's destined for one of the top English sides sooner or later. I don't think the scale of the job would get to him.

Simeone, Poch, Allegri. They'd all take that club forward, imo.

Would love to see them take a punt on Mark Van Bommel, though.

From day one i never though Mourinho was a good fit at Man utd, correct me if i am wrong he has never built a team from scratch wherever he has been. He has always walked into a job where all the ground work has been done by his predecessor. Three of their latest big money signings have for whatever reason not preformed as well as they should. Were these signings what Mourinho wanted or was it what the hierarchy wanted, whatever the reason there has always been friction with Pogba, a great player on his day, trouble being he only plays when he wants to.As for Fred i've seen so little of him its hard to have an opinion and Lukaku is overated and overpaid, Hes definately no Mark Hughes. Still even though his time at Man Utd has been poor he will have a great xmas counting his pay off.

I'm just so pleased that the whingeing, arrogant twat is finished in this country, so that we don't have to listen to his depressing and miserable twattishness anymore

Poch. would be a very good 'fit' for them, but I think that Eddie Howe would be perfect for them . . . . he seems to favour playing 'the Man U. way' too, and the timing might just be perfect for him :emoticon-0105-wink:

Totally agree with the Eddie Howe shout mate but it won't happen. The owners have signed players with marekting potential and their profits have gone up. IMO no chance they'll sign a good manager who's a great fit if not in the superstar catgerory cos it's not what they do_Of course one day the fact that they are **** will overtake everything but hey not their problem, money made, geared investmnent in the right environment who cares. Real shame for the fans tbh, makes me despondent this can happen to such a club aand nowt anyone can do.

Can't believe I'm genuinely feeling sorry for Man U fans given our lot over the years but it is an absolute disgrace there

My thought would be go for Zidane. He's managed high profile club plus the ego's that go with it. He seems less combustible than Mourinho. Also, with Man U I believe there are not many managers in the world who can do the job. In terms of business there are probably in the top two in terms of turnover in the world. United because of their history have also have to play with the style associated with a glamour club. To me it's between three people.....Grayson, Moyes returning or Zidane......I will go with the latter.....the lad ticks the boxes.

    Solskjaer interim boss.

Don't really understand it. He's hardly going to reign the inflated egos in is he?

This season isn't about that really. It's more about getting through to the end then getting their manager in. He's been rated by teams in a few places from my memory - fans seem top like him too.
