Just looked at the odds for SPOTY. Indicates a pretty poor year so I won't be watching it. And if Gareth Ainsworth isn't on the shortlist for best manager then I don't know who is

Not done one lately Cyc and not risking it before Christmas. This coming Saturday we are coming down your neck of the woods - family holiday for 3 weeks in Oz. I don’t want to risk a bike crash so close to the big event <ok>

How did Billy Monger stand on the podium three times without legs?

Maybe he has man made ones. :)

Just as well you're not in Sydney at the moment Oddy, it's been pissing down. Hopefully it'll be ok by the time you get there.

I absolutely love Perth. A truly beautiful city and like myself, a bit of a loner.

Lucky sod. Have a great time.

I heard someone was legless on the Podium but I thought that was normal

I like my golf Stick but not for me. Won the Ryder Cup on home soil. 2 horse race. The netball Commonwealth Games win was monumental. I'd never watched a netball match in my life but the way they won the both the semi and the final with the last chuck was unbelievable. They beat red hot favs the Aussies in the final too.

Great the netball team won. At least a Gareth won top coach, deservedly so I reckon

I did watch after all, because it was on. Never heard of the winner but after that winning "speech" I rather like him. Had us in fits. Just seeing him there holding the trophy, looking lost, was enough to bring a smile to anyone's face. Surprised the girl sprinter didn't get a place but they can't all.

Tour de France winner Ron and you didn't know him? Did he not ride past your front door? The girl sprinter will hopefully win it in 2020 after a stellar Olympics. She's just coming good again after injury and barring further setbacks should be spot on for Tokyo.

You can't ride past our front door Chan, unless you ride round in circles in our courtyard and go back from where you came. I think we would have invited him in for a cuppa had he gone so far out of his way. He seems a nice bloke

    Manchester United:

There is one obvious candidate for the vacancy. A man who can turn around the Red Devils’ fortunes. Successful in his last adventure.

    Harry Redknapp

No hairdryer treatment in the dressing room. Just Kangaroo’s Testicles and Witchetty Grubs at half-time. That will make them play a little harder.

Just got back from our school's Christmas spectacular where our 3 youngest grandchildren (aged 4, 6 and 9) were all performing in their respective age groups. These kids at the school never cease to amaze me. Performing on stage to a packed audience of 500 or more, many of them using microphones. How they remember all the words and routines I don't know. And every child (and teacher) participates. I don't know how they do it. Wasn't up to this standard when I was a kid

Ron it’s because their minds are free and they don’t spend all their time worrying about **** like we do.

Hey Elon, why not string a few cars together to carry more people and then you would have ................................ ah no, wait, that would be an underground railway system, those already exist all over the place <doh>

You'd first need to develop a completely safe traffic management system (Air Traffic control with a 1000 times the complexity) before anyone can even think about getting in a flying car. But it is possible, with sat nav, automatic distance control, automatic speed control. You could in theory turn motorways into computer controlled super-highways where everyone is automatically driven along at 100 mph.

C'est magnifique! How to look French when you're not

Jeanne looks all right in her uniform but she spends five minutes longer on her make-up than me. Exercise is the walk to work. Not sure about a bistro for lunch – more like Bisto on beef pie and veg for dinner. Should she not be wearing a gilet jaune?
