Just need Bristol now to do the business and a gap starts to appear. Put a cheeky £5 on the results we wanted Leeds - win Villa - draw, i think Stoke might be a dark horse team in the run in. QPR - win Bristol - win Returns of £232, PP have offered me £71.45p to cash out, no chance, Bristol will do Norwich
Back to the match, we looked to be running on empty for spells, no idea how to break them down, Clarke is a fearless young lad, looks the part but may not have the engine to start and last for 90 mins. Bamford will push on and looked pretty comfortable in his movement, good headache for Bielsa. Shackleton looked to get a groin strain, hope im wrong, either that or he was getting a hard on winning again lol.
Top of the league, 6 points clear of 3rd, averaging over 2 points a game with nearly half a season under our belts. That’s ok I suppose.
I could be Ristac, think it was Clark who started it, but Alioski did pass to Clark first who passed to Klick, Klick to Pablo who pushed it through for Bamfords first time shot. I think the commentator also mentioned it when Pablo was subbed.
Thought he had a very good game today, safe handling, looked comfortable when ever he was called for.
Question is though do we stick or twist ? We've lost Blackman and Siaz but the tighter the squad gets the better we seem to do.
My usual take for consideration, in no particular order: Baker is out of his depth, even against Bolton. Forshaw breaks up play well, but only plays sideways or back. Partly because of that, transition from back to front is laboured and predictable - only Shackleton and Clarke when he came on wanted to be direct and get the ball forward quickly Alioski chickens out of every 50/50 in the air and on the ground. Heart of a lion, not. At times we couldn't make simple passes over 5 yards. Bamford will be as clinical as Roofe, but in different circumstances, which is great as we can swop them as required. We are too slow playing our wide players in - by the time they get the ball, man on. Happened time & again. Overly critical? Not at all, we're winning ugly and that's great, but sort some of that out and the football will look prettier, from where I'm standing anyway. IBWT.
Also would anyone like to apologise for the ridiculous and sometimes vitriolic criticism dished out to Victor Orta prior to this season ? Seems he was actually doing a great job recruiting some fine prospects whilst the patience of a gnat was being displayed on here.
We have to strengthen in Jan,we may not get another chance like this for another 10 years. We aren't creating much if we lose Hernandez we are screwed.
I remember much flabbergast on my part when he kept buying U23 players instead of first-teamers. Just goes to show why he's regarded across Europe & beyond for his knowledge, while I remain a balloon.
You mean like Newcastle did with Batty and Tino Asprilla and then capitulated to hand the title to you now who. Doesn't always work out as you would hope when the dynamic is altered.
