The final scoreline probably shouldn't cover up that we were dreadful for the majority of the match against an out of form team. Warnock needs a big rethink about our tactic and performances away from home! Absolutely heaps the pressure on our next home game against United and away at Palarse!
Copied from Bbc report. Watford played ever so well today with Quina my man if the match - moment of the game though goes to the Cardiff fans whose response to two consecutive minutes of Watford possession was to start a five minute chant of ‘we’ve got the ball’ changing to ‘we’ve the lost the ball’ and back again - never seen an away end commentate before - genius! Safe journey home. COYH
First away game I’ve not seen on the net this season so can only comment based on the reports. Disappointing but unsurprising against technically better players. Again puts so much pressure on our home form.
Didn't watch the game only listened to it. From what I heard, Warnock played 5 in midfield and left Patterson hung out to dry - no support around him meant he was isolated and ineffective. Why do we need to alter our game when we're away from home to such an extent that we present very little threat to the home side? It clearly wasn't working. Either we haven't got the players on the bench to have an impact on the game when it's drifting away from us or the tactics were wrong in the first place. One point on the road all season so far is a horrendous record and must suggest we're setting up wrongly in the first place - time to rethink.
I’ve got to say if that formation was correct then that was patently a wrong decision by the manager as clearly our only chance of succeeding away from home against mid league teams is to try and attack. What has the team got to lose by going all out to win rather than getting beaten by far better technical players (in midfield) than we’ve got, especially as our defence is championship not Premier League standard. It seems only our goalkeeper prevented a total rout. If we do the same at Palace then no doubt there’ll be the same result .
The boo boys got their wish. With our limitations we need energy and legs and movement from our midfield 3. The best 3 werent selected.
So who would have played instead of one or more of Gunnar, Camarasa or Arter? We are short of options in that area.
For "boo boys" read those that don't rate Ralls. Some long time supporters of Ralls at Championship (and that includes me) can't accept that he's not being selected. He's not playing because he's been the least effective of any of our midfield options at this level. He needs too much time on the ball and takes too many touches to think about his next pass. Not saying he wont improve but right now the correct 3 in the middle are being selected.
Been waiting a long long topime for Ralls to improve, similiar to Healey and Joe Mason...not gonna happen!
City need a better version of Ralls in the window eg Drinkwater possibly. Still whilst 3 teams below us keep on losing (c’mon you Gunners today) we’re just about hanging on in there.
what can we say about yesterday>>>>keeper was tip top>>>defence put under pressure by a chasing shadows midfield system>>>>>>>Watford looked exciting but we showed great spirit and dragged ourselves back into the game>>>>>>>>>great finish from the lads in one of the coldest places ive ever been. Cardiff fans again top end, the trip was as it always is>>>>an experience 2 say the least(fun was had by all)..........some nutters on thy valley buses hey
Not impressed with our manager for once https://www.skysports.com/football/...take-action-against-cardiff-boss-neil-warnock
