So, I guess everyone knows that this year is Drury's testimonial year at the club.

I know that in the past here, posters have done their 'All time Norwich City XI.'

But, what would your XI be of all the players that have played for Norwich since Drury signed in March 2001?

Your '21st century Norwich City XI.'

    This is mine.

    GK - Green
    RB - R Martin
    CB - Fleming
    CB - Doherty
    LB - Drury
RM - Rivers/McVeigh (don't know who to pick)
    CM - Gary Holt
    CM - Hoolahan
    LM - Huckerby
    ST - Grant Holt
    ST - Roberts

Can't argue much with that selection. I would put Edworthy, Mackay, Shackell, Safri, Francis, Ashton and McKenzie on your bench.

looks a strong line up, maybe a few too many from 2002/3/4 compared to 2009/10/11 i'd say
I'd put Andrew Crofts on the bench and take out Francis or Safri personally

Surely Ashton has to be worth a starting place? I know Roberts was a great servant to the club and a real 'fans player', but as a footballer, I just think Ashton had more. Surely MacKay has to be in there ahead of Doherty for pretty much the same reason.

Is Mark Rivers really the best Right Midfielder we've had in 10 years?! I can't think of anyone else, so wld have to agree with you!

No offence to the scrawny maestro, but if Bennett or Pilkington don't nail down an NCwonky starting position by the end of the season then they'll be disapointed!

I had 'servant to the club' in mind when choosing my XI. If not then Fox would definitely be there and maybe Bennett and Pilkington. Although they both have only played up to three competitive games for us.

Ashton, for me, wasn't as much of a hero for me as Holt is or Roberts. If Ashton, how about Earnshaw?

R Martin had to be picked as he has just been brilliant and also I can't think of any right back - other than Edworthy - who's been good for the club.

I seem to remember someone called Briggs and I don't think there's any point in mentioning the rubbish that the club has been through at right back.

I'm surprised to see Paul McVeigh overlooked. He's surely worth a starting berth in the side?

Good point! Paul McVeigh for the RM slot everytime!

Sorry Maestro, 10 yrs on and you've just had far too many pies to keep up those fruitless runs up and down the touchline!

Must admit that this is possibly the perfect thread for me.

Being only 17 years of age, and despite my first match being in '99, I only really started following the club in 2001, in other words, when we signed Drury, and started playing well. Therefore, to me at least, your question was: Hucks for Manager, since you started following the club, what do you think Norwich's greatest XI would be?

I am therefore delighted to be able to answer your question wonky, although I fear it may be no different to yours (I'm going for some sort of deranged 4-3-1-2 formation by the way) :p

    GK: Green
    RB: R. Martin
    CB: Mackay
    CB: Fleming
    LB: Drury
    RM: McVeigh
    CM: Gary Holt
    LM: Huckerby
    AM: Hoolahan
    CF: Grant Holt
    CF: Roberts

Bench: Ruddy, Nelson, Doherty, Safri, Mulryne, Jackson, Ashton

Haha, I've noticed that, with one exception, my team is identical to yours wonky. Ah well, maybe my bench will offer some food for thought :)

Thanks for the compliments. I find it a bit odd that Drury has played for Norwich for just over half my life. Hardly anyone does that.

Your bench looks good, I may have to have a rethink...

I'd say my first team would be non too different to yours Hucks.

However i am admittedly surprised to see Jackson and Safri ahead of Earnshaw and Francis on the bench.

Disputable personal choice of mine, i'd also put Dublin ahead of Doherty.
