STEED Malbranque has revealed the reason he has decided to retire early from football is to look after his four-year-old son, who has been diagnosed with cancer. No-one deserves have their child with such a terrible illness, I wish him luck & pray for him & his family
There was rumours regarding this on here a couple of days ago, and if it has now been confirmed it is awful news... I suppose that all we can do is wish him and his family well and hope the doctors can help the lad..
Dang. I didn't know he was as young as four. At least Steed has gathered an awful lot of money from his footballing career, so he can retire early-ish and still be able to afford the best treatment the world has to offer.
Tragic for any family to go through and especially at that age. I have a 6 year old and just cant begin to imagine how I'd cope with that news. Our best wishes go out to Steed and his family and indeed to all families going through this.
My feelings go out to the Malbranque family and hoping for a speedy recovery for the little boy. I have a son 6 months younger and this doesn't ever bare thinking about.
Terrible news for Steed and his family..all our prays and wishes are with him, hope his little lad makes a full recovery
Echoing all these thoughts, hoping the little lad makes a full recovery. My prayers and best wishes are with Steed and his family.
Horrible for anyone to go through. My mam had it, and to see the pain she was in, the amount of times she was throwing up throughout the treatment and the devastation when she was losing her hair was horrible for me to witness. With him being young, his body will fight it, and with the love of his family I am sure he will make a recovery so all the best to the little lad, Steed and his family.
Awful news. My lad spent a month in paediatric intensive care when he was a baby and it's absolutely horrible to see kids suffer, especially your own. Hope for a full recovery, Steeeeeeeeeeed
I have got to say I am suprised Quinny hasn't put a statement out on SAFC.COM wishing him all the best. But as everyone Sunderland fan will agree I hope you and for your family get through this Steed, hopefully it will make you stronger in the long term. KTF
This is awful news to receive, and from experience with relatives I think it is probably worse for the adults in the family. On the bright side, the total recovery rates for this horrible malignity are now very good compared to even a decade or two ago, so here's hoping the little lad comes through this.
Shocking news for all of the family. The little lad will be in my prayers as well as the family. Here is hoping for a speedy recovery for the little one. God bless son.
It's not true. See other thread http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/83899-Steed-Malbranque-has-no-son Some sick people around is all I can say.
