It's ****ing crazy, Dermott Gallagher says because he got booked for a foul despite not seeing the hair pull the booking was enough punishment. The Swedish Ponytail almost killed an opponent with a deliberate elbow at OT a couple of seasons back and there was no retro punishment because apparently the referee booked him for a push in the back. Imagine the uproar if a player is seriously injured and the villain only gets a yellow, would the FA say even though you're now a paraplegic his yellow was punishment enough.
Don't be daft, anyone would want a red for turning someone into a paraplegic, 3 match ban should cover it.
You know if something really happened the fa panel would drop the hammer. If a players career got ended by some foul play they'd just do an about turn and be seen to take action. As I said, the minute I heard about it I knew they'd do nothing. Funnily when Hugh pulled felliani hair he got 3 games.
I just feel it's a dangerous thing to do. If a guy is running at full pelt a firm pull on his hair could cause something similar to a whiplash injury. It's definitely violent conduct imo, and even if a foul is given for some other aspect of the challenge the hair-pull can and should be dealt with retrospectively.
Ref gave a free kick so fa have said action was taken on the pitch. Another one of their stupid rules where they don’t want to undermine their referees by admitting he got something wrong. It’s why I’m not entirely sure how var is goig to work when we never overrule the refs decision even when it’s obvious now
very true was brought up on classical music as a kid and my step dad used to take the piss when discussing composers and saying about Austrian etc, he just said same ****ing thing, still German
