Many years ago I had to deal with an estate agent who's surname was Pine-Coffin. I couldn't take him seriously, mind you I could say that about all estate agents tbh.

The reason so many people have double barrel names nowadays is nothing to do with trying to be posh, it's because so many couples don't get married any more and give their kids both their surnames.

Not a double barreled surname, but Bill Lear, of Lear Jet fame, actually gave his daughter the first name of Crystal, and the middle name of Shanda.

It’s actually Shanda Lear, there’s no Crystal and she is actually double barrelled now, she’s Shanda Lear-Baylor.

I read a book about him, he was very interesting bloke.

There was a lad at my school with the surname Mortimore whose parents had the bright idea of christening him Mortimer.

I’ve got a mate who swears that he was at school with Dwayne Pipes, but I’ve never really been convinced.

Aye, it's not really that convincing, but the Dwayne Pipes bit rings true. <ok>

When I went to Uni there was a kid there called Wyper.

    First name Richard.

This was in the lecture theatre and his name was called out. Both me and another bloke both said it out loud at the same time. Dick Wyper!!! And pissed ourself.
Been best mates for ten years now with that bloke.

Dick doesn't keep in touch tho

Many black players adopt a double barrelled surname as the result of being given up for adoption by their birth parent(s) and taking on their new parents surname i.e Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Went to school with a girl called Joyce Ugly-Bastard.

    It wasn't her real name.

She was just an ugly bastard called Joyce.

That just taking the parents names as I said earlier, it’s nothing to do with being black.
