I do think that a club owner should at least attempt to portray an image of dignity and class...Even I cringed when seeing this, and would have been gutted if one of my clubs figure heads had done this.
I don't see how this can be equated with the fat controller and his attitude towards us and the club, MA is not the figure head he is the owner and personally I would rather have a boss who parties than one who behaves like a rabid puritan.
I doubt that you "Cringed" and I doubt that you would be "Gutted" at having a human working at the club, no what you did was rub your hands in delight and think how you could beat the geordies over the head because of their owner, he may be a prick but he's ours and we beat you at the SOS enough said.
Time and a place, its behind closed doors. As I say like it or not, when you buy a football club you become linked with that club and as such are taking a responsibility in terms of image. This is not the image to portray a professional organisation. As I say everyone is quick to jump on players backs and how they have a professional responsibility, the same applies to owners, directors etc. It certainly did when the previous owners dropped heir guards, I can't see how this is any different. I don't wish for the bloke to be a saint, only to consider the club. This has brought negative press on the club once again.
I like to play Chess and Pentango. If you're free next Thursday would you like to come over and have a game of Go? Or we can thrash out our differences over a game of Connect 4. This is an open invitation.
Times are bad when a mackem is talking sense and our own are trying to excuse his actions I'll have to agree with this
Of course most of us dont like but FFS he's having a night out and making a tit of himself, he's not molesting a child or raping someone, he's out enjoying himself.
To be fair Barnaby, he chose to be in the position he's in. Its like becoming a father be. You have to grow up and accept the responsibility that comes along with. There's loads of things you'd love to still do but accept you can't. He bought a football club and needs to accept the responsibility that comes with it. Part of his responsibility is the image of the club. The owner bounding round in boxers pissed out of his head is not a good image for Newcastle, hence the bad press. We just don't need it. As I say this is no different from Freddie and Douglas being in that brothel and being shopped for their actions.
To be fair to Ashley he's already dragged the club through **** A little full monty in a restaurant is nothing compared to what he's got away with in the past
Barnaby loves the fact that Fattus Mikeus is fat and got his belly out. It's the most entertaining thing he can think of. In the world.
Having Ashley as owner is part and parcel of having bad press and I dont see things changing in the future. I expect that Ashley and Llambias to get us more bad press but I also dont see anything wrong with enjoying yourself only as a public figure he should think before he acts.
I hate the fat **** but those pictures made me raise a smile haha Thankfully not a boner! If only it was Stevie Bruce doing it, even better, although he has zero personality the sad tosser
Seriously, what's the point in being rich if you don't know how to be miserable! Look, fair enough he's bought a footy club so should be mindful of the fact that he is in the lime light, but come on, does anyone really care?!?! Just funny imho, I don't see it as embarressing, only for him, which is a good thing! He represents him, not us. Even the most narrow minded surely see that. I'm glad he did it, gave me a laugh. Glad I wasn't there though!
The guy is a muppet, sooner he sells up the better, didn't he go out and get hammered when there was debate about Keegan's future before he left.
Mike Ashley is not one of us, he bought the club and what ever he does is out of our hands. If Quinny did this, then i'd understand you being embarrassed because he has a connection with the fans and most of you respect him and love him. He is a legend at Sunderland, as he played for the club and was one of your greatest players. Mike Ashley is in no way shape or form connected with the fans, and the only thing he's embarrassed is himself, if he even cares. If there are actually Newcastle fans embarrassed by this then i'm sure the highlights from the 5-1 and 0-1 wins will take their minds off it for a bit and cheer them up
