I haven't seen Tiote react, apart from when he stood over that player for having a go. That was all he needed to do hahaha Pure terror lol

Tiote's cards were mainly for desperate tackles. He really does challenge for anything he can get anywhere near and unfortunately this can lead to players hitting the floor. I don't think he's a dirty player. Plus agree with other post about a lot of them being a tad harsh, got himself a rep quickly.

Barton on the other hand plays these games as part of his strategy, but can't control himself if he gets beaten. Money is on a Barton goal and Barton red, unless the red comes first

Far from but I think what Barton was getting at, is that we've signed a young 20 yr old left back who has not been able to get a game for his parent club and has yet to play in the PL. Plenty of players come from abroad with big reputations, having played CL football but there are no cast iron guarantees. Aquilani is a good example.

Personally I think he'll be a very good signing, but more so at right back in his natural role. I've never seen him troubled when he has played right side (actually impressed when he played right wing) but I have seen him raped in a few different games at left back. (I've also seen him play well there) I don't think Joey was getting at the fact we signed Santon or saying Santon will not make it here, he was simply pointing out that you need some proven players in your squad. We still have a few but we have lost 3 in Joey, Nolan and Jose. We have not replaced that PL know how and we won't know what effect this will have until around February time after a long cold winter!

As for Bartons comment, I read them at the time and I must say; even if the details of what you say are correct, it does not mean that they cannot be expressed in an offensive manner. I got the distinct impression he was laughing about us signing Santon and mocking his abilitys, which is inappropriate. I would be willing to bet Barton has never seen him play. It's part of my reasoning for suggesting that Barton may well just be trying to stir. Bitter and sad. I actually feel ashamed for sticking up for him, despite his on-field behaviour improvements.
