His managerial style will rub off on Kelvin and Kelvin will takeover in a few years after Ralph leaves to join Madrid after such a successful reign with Saints. Kelvin continues the high-press, attacking football Ralph started and guides us to our first major trophy since '76.... okay maybe im gettimg carried away. But great appointment and I am now buzzing for tonight and Cardiff!
“Proactive play is what the public identifies best with,” Hasenhüttl told the Bundesliga website last year. “It’s about creating an experience for the fans. I think it’s always something special to see a team that’s fully invested in their work and physically determined. Then the fans get the feeling that the boys are giving their all. Without question, that is a distinctive feature of all of my teams so far.”
Danny Rohl will be joining shortly. He's still in his 20s but he's Hasenhüttl's video analysis guru (he was formerly Head of Analysis) and eventually got promoted to the role of assistant manager at RB Leipzig. He'll join as Ralph's assistant here.
Makes you wonder why we didn't go for him in the summer considering we've known about him so long, he was a 'free agent' and Hughes had only won a couple of games in his short stint. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, hopefully Hasenhuttl will be too.
Because the club panicked about perception. Hughes was here, Hughes had kept us up, Hughes wanted the job. The fans wanted Hughes to get the job. Players were publicly supporting Hughes. It was the easy choice. If Saints had veered away from Hughes, they were too worried that fans would perceive it as another 'clueless board' move and were keen to promote stability and their 'plan'. That worked out well...
Exactly, was just thinking the same, but one could argue at the very least that this appointment is more inline with what he would have done.
