It's the fact that we've had our fair share of dodgy refs this season, that worry's me. I know they say these things even themselves out over the course of the season.
I wonder what the stats would have been if Clarke played the first half of each match & Alioski the second. Not a defence of Alioski, more a statement that this is comparing apples & oranges. It's been said that Alioski's main task was to run the legs off the defence to give us better opportunities later in the second half when they tired. I don't think Clarke has the fitness to perform that role, given his last couple of performances. Not yet, anyway. This combo definitely seems to have worked, so I can see Alioski starting next match. But then, who knows with our Marcello?
I just fear what kind of money a 4th just in case striker would cost and who would be happy being 4th choice? We have £8m worth of reserve striker in Bamford and we have Roberts next in line, a top quality striker isn't going to be happy sitting behind those 2-3 and financially would it be worth it when there are other more pressing areas?
you lot are a right let down what's happened to our reputation it's in tatters.https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/7882979/footie-yobs-birmingham-top-list/amp/
Ristac what should happen in my view is that as soon as Roofe’s form drops off Bamford steps in and makes himself officially the first choice striker. A new striker brought in who is a proven scorer and Roberts sent out on loan to improve himself as a No9 which then leaves us with 3 priven scorers for a very busy run in
I have the same concern over Clarke’s physicals strength but he’ll come on in leaps and bounds I think. My guess is like yours. Alioski to start, at least for a few more games but Vlarke to get used more and more. From what I’ve seen he is (or will be) the better player.
I understand that Izzy Brown played left wing for the U23's I suspect he wants him to come in on that role. Alisoki is too slow and lightweight and against a larger opponent just can't compete physically. Adding his extra physical presence will add a huge extra element and will give the opposition another big worry. Can see Roofe, Hernadez, brown being completely free to roam across the front three and causing mayhem!!
Good Afternoon from a sunny Bardsey Having watc hed the highlights thanks to LL I;m afraid that BPF is like a rabbit getting caught in a cars lights He missed lt least 5 crosses and his punch was so poor that it went about 2 yards on top of this he dropped the ball twice presenting Sheff we 2 decent chances No we need a quality keeper What worries me he may after play until early Jan Surely Huffer can't be as bad Wilder knew exactly where our weakness lies and must have ;practised crossing all last week Clarke for me every time Alioski spends too much time on the deck I see OLLIEBURKE gets a mention as a possible loanee worried about his attitude now
...think you need to watch it again. He missed one, when sharp pushed Douglas into his route... the one presumably you’re saying he dropped was given as a foul as sharp had jumped into him. One he looked like he’d missed was actually deflected over him by Roofe (was there a call? Who knows). Second half he missed one that looked too high to be going for, but again got a subtle nudge from sharp,so hard to tell. Wilder targeted him for sure, by getting billy sharp to ‘old man’ him. But i agree it was an uncomfortable afternoon for him. Funnily enough i don’t recall him struggling with crosses last year To be honest if was playing Leeds, i’d think ‘team of dwarves, can’t defend set pieces, let’s make sure the inexperienced keeper can’t come cleanly for them and wing as many in as possible’
I have watched it 3 times and stick by what I said we need a better keeper he was awful and this gives his team mates palputations
I’m not sure what worries me the most your eyesight or your maths fella but I do agree he was struggling on crosses.
