Yep, just because Gary Neville says it`s deliberate, does not mean it was deliberate.

Bet he's already got a team lined up for the Southampton game and this affects how he utilises the players in the game prior thus delaying the subs.

    Squad depth basically.

The Woolwich first team had a full weeks rest and a full weeks preparation for this game, and it showed, they had more energy and bite, which made a huge difference. That said, in games like this you have to play your strongest team, and Toby should have played instead of Foyth.

It’s very hard to justify any “tackle” involving high studs. I was quick to condemn Lamela’s on Wednesday, but this one genuinely has me baffled.

9 away games out of 14.
30 points on the board. Can’t complain about that.

    Our next 3 games:
    Southampton H
    Leicester A
    Burnley H.
3 winnable games, although Leicester away is tricky.

Where as in that time, United play arsenal and Liverpool, City play Chelsea and Everton, and Liverpool also have a tricky game against Bournemouth.

Most important thing now is to bounce back.

Oh and if Daniel could begin to think about his January shopping spree, that’d be great, too. <ok>

    Emery's a better coach.

For a "Spurs fan" Mike Dean really doesn't do a very good job reffing our games does he?

We need to bounce back immediately with a 4-0 against Southampton to build up a good momentum for Barca, a match that now looks harder to win. I said that if we beat Arsenal we'd beat Barca, we were well beaten today.

A few minutes gone and our right back passes straight to a red shirt, then chases the red shirt that now has the ball, trips him by the corner flag when he's going nowhere.....free kick. Red shirt takes it high into the penalty area where a white shirt sticks his hand up in the box and handles the ball.PENALTY AND CARD.
I think, hello,it's going to be one of those Spursey days...…………...

4-0 specifically? Or will 3 do?
    Or perhaps just a win?
What about 5-0? Is that too many?

More importantly, will 5-1 be enough?

Oh no, that way leads to 92 stressful minutes of toe poking the ball towards the keeper before Son or Alli fires in a worldie

I'm going to this and will take a win of whatever nature. United are playing Arsenal at OT, so there's a chance to make back some ground. There'll be no Super Jan, or Davinson Sanchez, both full backs could do with a rest, as could Sissoko, HK, etc. and we're not overly stocked with options or replacements. Let's get behind the team and get back on course. 1-0 will do for me.

It's like you don't want your mate to see his 61st!

Was there a reason why Alderweireld was an unused sub today?
Alderweireld and Vertonghen have been the best centre backs in the PL in the past five years - both individually and as a pair.
Why give responsibility to young, inexperienced defender in a fixture like this instead of playing your best defender?
There may be issues with him but he was selected in the squad.
If any player is fit enough to be in the squad, they are fit enough to play.
Four goals conceded suggests it was the wrong decision not to play him.

Southampton have scored 12 goals all season so I'd want a clean sheet against them, wouldn't you?
Also 5-0 would do but I'd be happy with 4. Would you prefer a 1-0 win against 3rd bottom?

Not involved in the CL and having rested their entire team midweek, this was Arsenal's biggest game of the season ad they were going to throw everything at us. Pre-match I'd written that Foyth wasn't ready for this game. I'm not claiming any great insight. He's a work-in-progress but today shouldn't have been his day.

We weren't going to be able to outrun them today, we needed to make the most of our opportunities and experience and give nothing away. We did't get close to such a performance. If Toby was fit to play, he should've been out there. No questions.
