They are 2 totally different things though, 1 has 5 i think main cast in a gunfight, where in reality they would all probably die or get caught, but it would have made for a pretty ****e film if it happened, the other is war, where they have 100`s if not 1000`s but again the main characters survive it, which is entirely possible, but lots get killed.

    some others

    Scarface
Rompa Stompa (not really action per say but a good film none the less)
    Goodfellas
    Godfather Triliogy
    Swordfish

Its not amazing but this is a pretty good film. It was relatively low budget but the gun fights are really good.

..yes its all contrived but you can have the heroes surviving and make the fight look real......you cannot have the hero just standing there shooting from the hip impervious to the antagonists gunfire..its just silly and not the action i respect....once CGI took over and you had tom cruise bouncing off and clinging to the front of a speeding train/helicopter in a tunnel in Mission impossible....the action film has become fantasy ..give me the car chase in french connection(done for real as they had no permission to film they simply went for it).basicaly i like an action film rooted in what humans can do ..others like action films what superhumans can do and that i call fantasy .....now........... football anybody!

I love The Lord of the Rings trilogy and some of the Harry Potter films. Also love classics like 'The Quiet Man' starring John Wayne and 'It's a wonderful life' starring James Stewart. I enjoyed Avatar, and thought of it as an updated version of Dances with Wolves, which is also a film that I enjoyed.

    Taxi.

Not the terrible Hollywood remake but the original French version is brilliant.

Watched Salt last night starring Angelina Jolie, expected it to be total crap but it was easily one of the best action films I've seen in ages
