Saw him on a quiz show the other day. He thought it was 15000 miles by road from Lands End to John O'Groats. He wasn't funny either.
A very enjoyable evening - we particularly liked the Lau Nau piece in Queens Gardens (spectacular stuff!). Nice to see the city centre so busy again and a great atmosphere.
The window displays down Whitefriarcate where excellent. One was an American guy in a manaquin.outfit.in the window There was some young kids about 4 to 8 shouting at him . His responses where brilliant . Gonna go tommoorrow I think !!
Thought the Parliament Street display was brilliant, and the kids who were there were having a great time. Didn't really get the one on the old co-op building though.
If you find James Acaster unfunny ,I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Kevin Bridges in Manchester Last week .Laugh I thought I would never start, though the younger people in the audience were in hysterics. Could be a generational thing .my mate had to give me a nudge at the end to wake me up .
It must be a generation thing as I think as for me comedy finished with the likes of Dave Allen, Billy Connolly, Les Dawson, Morecambe and Wise, The Two Ronnies, Only Fools and Horses era. I mean the likes of Harry Hill funny?
Doesn't surprise me. I love stand up and have seen loads but Kevin Bridges a few years ago at City Hall was one of the worst definitely the worst of the so called big names. Didn't even make me smile never mind laugh
You have to worry about the future of this country when Mrs Brown's Boys is seen as top drawer comedy.
Didn't see the point of shining the lights onto the pavement down parliament street when hundreds of people were walking on them. All you could see were a lot of brightly coloured shoes. But otherwise top class.
