She’s pretty laid back and lets a lot slide but I think cancelling a meal on her birthday, just to watch the football might just tip her over the edge.
I’ve got my girlfriend moving in tomorrow. First test of the relationship comes at 17:30.... (In fairness I did say I wouldn’t go to the game. I mean, that’s compromise, right!?)
We are nearly bottom of the League, we haven't won for ages, it is on TV, United are resurgent, the Referee is Kevin Friend, we are totally out of luck, we have injury problems, we can't score, we can't defend, our support is despondent, the Manager is rubbish, the Owners are useless, Lauro says we will lose, what can possibly go right? It might not rain perhaps.
I just got off the phone to my dad, having told him " don't worry, we're going to turn it all round with victory over Man Utd tomorrow". Was meant to be heavy with satire, but I ended up convincing myself (and I don't drink or take drugs).
I once had a girlfriend who gave me 3 blowjobs during a game. I was praying for no extra time and she didn't even stop to top up my beers I wasn't that bothered, but the stewards at St Mary's went ****ing mental
When we were in L1 & living in Essex, I said to my then GF “I’m taking you out to see a show & have meal but wear casual”. Took her to Roots Hall & pub for pie & pint. Iirc, we won 3-1. Good eve. She still laughs about it & now she’s my wife
I am as I have decided not to go. Got to finish painting (no pun about watching paint dry), and my mate asked if I had knew anyone with a spare ticket. Yes me We may actually win as the last game I didn't turn up to was Everton at home last season. Yes I have only seen us win once in over a year and I have a season ticket. Dreadful really.
I missed Everton last season. Fortunately, I was there for Bournemouth and the Dusan Tadic show (of course we sold him in the summer. Of course we ****ing did), otherwise I’d have to think back into the mists of time for our last victory at St Mary’s. West Ham, I think, we’ll over a year ago. Christ on a bike (sorry god).
Personnel aside, I'm interested which of our most two recent formations we'll be going with. The 4-2-3-1 which finally seemed to find roles for both Gabbi and Armstrong, or what seemed to be akin to 5-2-1-2 last time out. Either way we get that triangle of PEH-Lemina-Armstrong which is looking promising.
Explain that she'll have another birthday next year, but this may be the last home league meeting between Saints and Man Utd for several years. I'm sure that she will understand.
For anyone that likes a gamble, United are currently 10/11 (just under evens) to win tomorrow. Mad odds. I might put a mortgage on it
2-1 Saints. And 2-1 Aberdeen in the League Cup final ! I hope we both get in the faces of the opposition right from the kick off. We can do this!
