And the amazing thing is Assange is treated as the terrorist in all this. The lies of these criminal politicians has resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands since this incident yet people are calling for the assassination of people at the centre of wikileaks?

Dont listen to all this bullshit about endangering the forces, national security or compromising sources and informers, the most serious reported consequence of anything occuring to someone due to the release of the unredacted cables (which was the fault of The Guardian) has been someone losing their job.

Does this go in the "it's on the internet so it must be true" file? Thought so.

No it was a cable (a confirmed official America-Iraq embassy cable) that is now viewable on the web. This is a Senator talking about it.

This falls into just the simple "it must be true" category

I used Wikileaks before to backup death figures in Iraq and it was either you or Eddie that said they weren't reliable.

Wikileaks or wikipedia? Wikipedia is good for figures but as a user edited encyclopedia its information is not citable.

Wikileaks is just a medium for the release of leaked material. The material is handed to them and then released unedits (only editing is redation where any potentially life compromising information like the name if an informant etc. is removed).

Shocker! A jewish actor tries to smear a politician who, by American stanndards, is honest and speaks out against the status quo (voted against patriot act, iraq war etc.) and therefore isn't fitting with the American-Israeli zionist agenda

I know the difference between the 2. It was Wikileaks that I used. Perhaps it was Crazy Eddie.

Those pesky jews AGAIN! But didn't the Borat, Bruno & Ali G characters take the piss out of lots of people

This is hardly news. John Pilger wrote the following in his book 'Distant Voices' in 1991:

Ali G, Borat and Bruno are basically glorified smear campaigns paraded as comedy. Its a very clever concept and remarkably effective.

So it's not just a funny guy taking the piss out of everyone?

How effective were his smear campaigns?

I'd say some of them were very effective. How seriously do you now takle some of the people / organisations that Ali G and Borat made look absolute cretins?

Women, jewish people, black people, politicans, Americans, americans from the deep south, ultimate fighting fans, chavs, hotel staff etc. etc. etc.

I have to say my opinion hasn't changed, I realised that it was a joke and the whole part of it being funny is they thought this ridiculous character(s) was real.
