I don't think he would but it gives people something to talk about while we watch the paint dry. I'm surprised no ones speculating on which Saudi Prince is behind Duffens bid. (If it's one of the stabby ones I wonder if Ehab will get invited to the consulate to pick up some paper work if the deal stalls?)
T The Victoria, Union Road, near the rear entrance to the Castle, has the biggest collection of draught beers I’ve ever come across - maybe that’s the place?
Ehab loves being a football club chairman. It gives his ego a boost. He likes the lifestyle it can bring (other than, you know, the actually football bit). Though I very much doubt that he'll be involved in any new board, should one be formed, as Duffen for a start knows how toxic he is. The SMC does complicate things a bit, but I can't imagine that anyone would enter into an arrangement where they are beholden to the whims of such a temperamental, easy-to-offend, attention seeking individual, as would happen should Ehab hold the power at the SMC and City be owned by someone else (I don't think it's possible for this to happen anyway under the rules of the SMC through the council). I don't think it's likely, but if Ehab is given an 'advisory' role in the board that will essentially be ignored, I'll still be back at the KCOM as soon as possible once the deal is done. I miss it too much.
All conjecture, but if the respective buyer and the Allams are wide apart on the value (I see c£17m muted) then just may be any deal revolves around the buyer acquiring either the club as a whole or a significant controlling share of the club with certain caveats, facilitating the Allams potentially getting more out in financial terms down line subject to certain criteria, player sales, profitability, promotion etc. within set time lines. If such a scenario led to a change in ownership with Ehab retained as an adviser then I'm personally all for it. If it means Ehab remains on the board, then for me the toxicity remains, and I see no meaningful change on the horizon whilst new owners work with one hand tied behind their back which in essence would be the implication of Ehab retaining any operational involvement whatsoever. Ehab, get the deal done, and do the right thing, WALK!
I'd be surprised if there was any Saudi money involved at all I think if Duffen had the money available he would have bought the club by now I think maybe he thought he could get the club for a more realistic £15 Million and could probably manage that but not the ridiculous £40 million the Allams seem to want just idle speculation of course but nobody knows what's going on
I've got something Rehab can sit on. It's called a second world war shell. TBH let him sit on the board, hopefully he'll see how a club is run, for when he buys the likes of Grimsby or Scunny. Poor bastards!
Duffman knows the situation with the Allams & the council! So hopefully he’s had a chat with Brady etc and tested the water on a potential sale of the stadium? If they get it cheaper then the Allams would have got it? ( cos Brady thinks they’re ****s) then it could hopefully swing the deal? Let’s face it the grounds looking a bit **** at present?
Wouldn't be at all surprised if Ehab wanted to retain some sort of role at City. I mean, what else is he going to do? Marine won't have him.
He should start a business breeding Polo ponies Or, possibly, start breeding with Polo ponies Anyhow, he should **** off!
