There’s a nice authorised mate running in the second at Warwick for the Scudamore yard. I know the big guns are at the top of the market but the yard are in form and the mare has a long lay off to contend with but 66/1 ew doesn’t scare me. Cheers.
Two at Taunton for the useful Scott/Griffiths match up ( trainers recent form, last 2 weeks, is pretty useful - 4 wins, 6 placed put of 19 ) 12.25 Dashel Drasher 1.00 Bang on Then in the third at that racecourse ( 1.35 ) there's another nice one, Farm the Rock. Might just stick with easy single bets on all 3, I never get any luck with exotics. Looks like favourite backers will enjoy that card at Warwick. And forget lovely fillies and Corrie characters, if you want to back a horse today based on a name, there can be only one! Ayr 3.00 ChooChooBugaloo Have a nice day, good luck to all who play. ( If there's any change hits my pocket from those 3 at Taunton, I may well have a look at the A/W cards for this evening )
He certainly is. I like his blog too as he appears to be a kindred spirit in the grumpy ol bastard stakes. He has a real decent chance in the Hennessy on Saturday too now there's some give in the ground.
Samcro has been declared for the 'Fighting Fifth'. Him and 4 others will take on the Champ, Buveur D’Air.
Santini doesn't go tomorrow, team. Regular readers hide your disappointment stoically. Am guessing it will now be either Newbury or Bangor on Saturday.
I wanted to take Unblinking on at the price. Good run last time and supposedly 7 lbs "Well In" here but I have never found value in following these horses who are ahead of the handicapper. They seem to be a magnet for punters. Still a maiden over hurdles, I just can't be backing at 6/4. I was looking at Malton Rose last night and the general consensus is that he is badly handicapped. He bolted up in a maiden hurdle and was handed 135 for his troubles. He could cut little ice from that mark in handicaps but he is down to 127 now and has a 7 lb claimer replacing a 5 lb claimer so is 10 lbs better in than his first foray into handicap races. Trained by Nicky Henderson and with only 5 runs under his belt he is still early days in his career and in an uninspiring affair I felt a wee each-way at 14/1 was a bit better value for an interest than going conkers deep on a maiden at 6/4. Malton Rose seems popular this morning but he's obviously a speculative selection in a trappy affair. The Fav may bolt up but I have a dislike of maidens when they are shortish odds.
Conditional Danny McMenamin has been catching my eye recently. Not getting many rides but that could all soon change. He rides HOT GOSSIP (5/1) for Dianne Sayer in the 3.00 today and his claim could make all the difference. Told by a contact at the yard that Botti's think they can beat the fav in the Chelmsford 8:15 tonight. HOULTON 5/1.
That was more like a price. I saw the betting last night and noticed that the first two in the betting were still maidens over the sticks. Over in France today I was looking at Ebony from the the Jean-Claude Rouget stable. She is a 2YO by Le Havre and that is a sire Rouget tends to do well with his offspring. Rouget trained the Dam and I have noticed in the past that the trainer sends out some decent sorts late into the calendar year. Ebony bolted up by 3 and a half lengths and I see the trainer has an unraced Makfi horse called Khurasann running in the 1.25 at Deauville. While Ebony was 5/2 with UK firms this morning but shorter with Ze Turf, Khurasann is 11/4 with our bookies but a shade over 5/1 with Ze Turf. Is there less confidence in France than in the UK? Ebony was very impressive today, travelling well throughout. Not the biggest of fillies but she has a really low action with a rapid refresh rate for her stride. Might be worth keeping an eye on next year.
Henderson's horse stank the place out. Surely due some respite from the handicapper after that. If only all the Good Things went in it would be great. Well done those who got the early 11/4 Unblinking.
taunton,3 10: JONAGOLD couldnt back up his good win over fences at warwick last time out at hereford, albeit over hurdles, but theres still room for improvement, and he can give a good account here..
4:30 Kempton - Oscar Ridge 9/4 Impressive winner on debut over 10f at Chelmsford so lets hope this will happen again
