That’s sounds very MI5! Have you uncovered anything of note?!? Meanwhile are any other agencies, that you are aware of, keeping tabs on the forum membership as well?!?

But cor bally blinkin’ blimey what’s occurring?!? Without my calming influence on the forum look what happens! Old girl Anna Key puts in an appearance. Deep breaths, troops, and relax.

Lord Yeats won a 12F contest at Listed Level, how many of today's field would have been capable of that? While it's true he hasn't jumped a hurdle, he has had a break and I am sure that he has been schooled. Horses do have some natural ability for jumping as well. In my opinion it is not a LOT to take on trust. At 11/4 it's well worth the small risk that he's talentless over the sticks. It's not like he is odds-on.

I made my case for Lord Yeats clearly enough and it is a fact that most races on any given day are "NO BET" races when you get down to it, that's why bookies thrive and punters generally do not. I felt you gave little or no reasoning why the particular race was one to avoid. I don't think punters should be afraid of an ex-French horse who could be the second coming because the horse has a longer list of negatives to overcome and a very tricky form record to put into the contet of todays' contest.

The betting on Charming Dream is alarming this morning. Bookies have put him out to 50/1 and nobody wants to know about him, punters seem to think he has no hope today and that's the risk in backing dark horses just because the stable have turned some around int he past.

I fully respect different opinions but it is better if it's fair and well argued reasoning, rather than just a feeling that a horse could be dangerous. Just putting my thoughts for the day forward. I don't do many jumpers these days but have been following racing for about 40 years and once ran a betitng shop for 10 years so I know both sides of the game. I doubt I'll be a King at all though. I read your posts with interest as you put a lot of effort into them and are very well informed. Whilst I have a lot of spare time to study racing I have a short attention span when it comes to posting on here. If I had known it would cause you some offence I wouldn’t have bothered. I had a good look at the race last night and thought it looked trappy.
If the Skelton horse were going to win today it would surely not have drifted like it has. As I mentioned in another post the Murphy horse was being supported last night. Several reasons for me to think the race was not worth chancing on an 11/4 shot.
Your pal is correct I do like to defend my selections as you have the right to also.
I hope this spat is over as the forum needs goods posters on here and not just dart throwers.

I honestly hope your horse wins for you as the main reason for being on this forum is for us all to beat the bookie.

Footnote: interesting how many people look at and feed off this forum and others without ever making a contribution. I am sure the mods have figures for it.

3 races down, and not one place so far.
On the bright side, at least it can only stay the same, and not get worse.

I understand totally where you are coming from and from someone who is only an occasional poster it is very noticeable that there is quite a bit of bottom licking by some to the bumper king. I am not sure why that is but clearly some feel the need to do it to keep in the clique...that said I accept stick puts up some very good tips but equally I have seen some wheelbarrow jobs that have spectacularly misfired!

Quite amusing though how some act...

I think you need to look closer to home as to why a lot of people don't contribute. Let's face it until Sir Barney Chuckles started actively contributing to the Daily Thread again after a while off, it was dying on it's arse, I expect because people didn't want to be shot down every time they suggest or select something that opposed your view. I remember an occasion when Grade 1 put up a horse to follow and you were straight back down his throat, effectively belittling him because in your opinion it was an obvious choice. For the record, I am no pal of either Grendel or Grade 1 and have no connection to either, I have read the forum for a long time and just felt it was time that someone who challenged you was backed up because none of the other sycophants on here will!

Regular posters and sharers form some kind of bond. Every new poster on here gets well welcomed. You call it a clique. I am gobsmacked, I thought you were better than that!

You obviously feel very strongly about this. To finally post says it all. Agree with your DT comments although I am sure when the jumps season really kicks off there will be more posters.
I will try to give more reasoning in future but as it is a forum we should always expect our view to be challenged huh.
There are ways to do it better and I shall attempt to be better at it.
It’s rude to call people sycophants.

A very fortunate across the card double there for greatorex, difficult to pick winners today, but the effort of ALL contributors is always welcome unless your name is that that won't be mentioned from the old bbc606 days ;)

although CENTREOFEXCELLENCE couldnt quite back up his win last time out,he was a respectable second, and the winner has gone in again since,so,from this low mark,he can surely figure again today..

For what it's worth in my opinion I think this is a pretty decent forum. I haven't been posting for long and was recommended the site by someone I used to work with. Some people might know each other away from the forum and I understand a lot of people have been posting on here for years but I haven't found it to be clique-y at all. I assume we're all adults on here so I think people just need to stop being so sensitive and taking offence at what they perceive as slights against them. I read most of the so called 'criticism' on here as banter anyway so I don't know why people take things so personally

Lads banter on here is genuinely in good spirits and there is very little arguing. Nothing wrong with the odd barney here and there to keep things ticking over!I do think we are a nice old bunch and make new posters feel welcome. There are alot of old school posters on here so you would expect some members will speak out in favour of others but maybe we could spread the love around a little more! PS have you ever looked at the betfair forum, full of WUMs and time waisters, we have a good thing going on here so lets keep the bickering to a minimum and concentrate at beating those pesky bookie chappies!

Bloody typical. 5 races down and nothing.
The missus' first race and Rich Approach wins. She took it at 18s.
I paid her bet, she will want all her winnings.
