No idea. Just making a judgement on this occasion. Inconsistency is another debate.

Fair enough, bury the past and stick with the present? They say that all things level themselves out in time, we are heavily in defecit on positive refereeing decisions so perhaps a few might go our way against United, what are the chances? Still waiting for Referee appointments so I don't know yet who we are going to get.

Didnt realise there was any past to bury, sorry. That does seem to happen when you're down near the bottom. I'm a Sunderland fan, so Ive had the same experience. However we had the added bonus that we were absolutely dreadful as well.

In that case, you will appreciate how painful it can get when the chips are down, however you will also have had the same negative response from a section of your fan base, that thought that by being unsupportive, judgemental, abusive and vindictive, that it would improve the situation, it never does and probably was instrumental in the downfall. Your main fan base would have stuck in there and are the ones that will push you back where you belong I suspect (and hope).

You are so right..........Parts of Saints are ok but not brilliant same as Sunderland were........Trouble is we at Saints are desperate for a turn around. (Just as you guys must be at times) So every time something goes against it heightens our anxiety.

My theory is that all teams have bad decisions. If Man City has a bad decision it doesnt really matter cos they'll just score in a few minutes time anyway and its forgotten about and not debated over. When you're down the bottom you have less chances to score to make up for the bad decisions, so often you tend not to score, so every bad decision is under the microscope. Its soul destroying.

    - If that's deliberate handball then we may as well pack up and go home. Sooner the rule change comes in the better.

    - Var is ****e, farcical having two what, 2min+ stoppages in the space of ten minutes.

    - Gabbi was a strange sub (though it nearly paid off), and I called his pen as soon as he came on the pitch. Strange that
he was the 6th taker after coming on so late though.

    - Leicester have got some bellend fans.

    - We actually played well with praise especially for Valery and Obafemi (who's hold up play was surprisingly excellent at times).

    ****ing meeeehhhhhh.

I'm no expert on the rules. I just think if somebody gains a massive advantage from an accidental handball then the handball should be given. If thats not the rules, then it should be.

I agree. A handball that leads directly (or almost directly) to a goal can't be ignored.....though I wouldn't like to see them go back too many steps as that would take all the excitement out of the game. After all a foul could have happened several passes ago....we don't want to go down that road.

Agreed and have said as such previously, but I believe the current rules state intent don't they?

I think it's something being looked at the moment.

This time the handball wasn't by the goal scorer, but if it was....intent shouldn't come into it. An accidental handball leading to a goal should result in the goal being disallowed...and I would be happy to see that written into the rules. Accidental handball by defender....not penalty; accidental handball leading to goal is a foul. I have no problem with the apparent contradiction in that because it is in line with justice.

“Accidental” says it all. Yes, you can change the law but as it stands, no foul. It is complicated though because more often than not the most unnatural position for a player’s arms are by his side. So, how do you deal with that?

Would he have given a penalty for boubvw
    Taken from article:

Let’s begin with the actual Laws of the Game. “Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct”: a direct free kick is awarded if a player “handles the ball deliberately”.
here is further clarification. “Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with the hand or arm.

“The following must be considered: the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand); the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball); the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an offence.”

Taking all of that into account, I'm exercising my right to call it a ****ing **** decision, and also evidence of one my biggest points about VAR.

Giving **** officials who make **** decisions access to technology won't solve things and they'll still make **** decisions.

    Because they're **** officials, and **** officials make **** decisions <ok>

Just seen it on Sky and no one can convince me that Nathans arm was in an unnatural position, it is where it usually is, between his shoulder blade and his hand and the ball hit it, no way he could have got out of the way, to be deliberate he would have to have superpowers.

A couple of questions for those who had a stream...

How long did the disallowed goal and their pen var decisions take? Felt like 2min+

Could Obafemi have headed his chance? As I thought he was going to at first and then misjudged it.

I liked the way that Armstrong went to console Oba after his missed sitter, that's team work.
