Ffs. It’s like a Pompey fan is playing our season on Championship Manager. VAR suddenly out of nowhere and some twat sat somewhere classes that as deliberate handball. Obafemi’s miss, Gabbi hitting bar in last minute. When we start getting the run of the green we are going to be unstoppable,,,

Eh? Gabbi's a striker. His main job is putting the ball in the net. Not Hughes's fault he fluffed it.

In case anyone wants to feel frustrated. It's a great save in the 95th.

Just goes to show what fans know ( oromaybe over react with emotion) I am sure the majority on here thought he was a waste of space ( bar last 3 months when he gave us the momentum to survive)

Have you seen his pens? They're crap. JWP was the obvious player to bring on. I am 90% sure he would have scored from the spot.

Interesting, why were our players not rushing to plant a free header in the back of the net. Surely they should be switched on to the fact that the keeper may parry it on a bounce back from the woodwork, sometimes I dispair.

He should either have brought Gabbi on earlier so he could have more time to have an impact on the game or he should have brought on JWP in preparation for pens. IMO, he made a really poor substitution. Gabbi hitting the bar doesn't change that. That free kick would have been in a good position for JWP as well. Gabbi is a **** penalty taker so bringing him on at that time made absolutely no sense. I wouldn't have had a problem if he came on in the 75th minute or so. That gives him time. But in the 90th minute when you've got a very good penalty taker sitting on the bench? It was a stupid decision and there was no logic to it whatsoever.

JWP will go in January if he has any sense (unless there is a change of manager).

Yep we are certainly an unlucky team of late. Dominated or been the better team in so many games and still lost

Other than he is a striker and might nick a goal, which he nearly did. I’m not a fan of Hughes, and think he should’ve been sacked already, but I don’t think we can blame him for tonight. We were very unlucky.

Bring him on earlier then. 5 or 6 minutes is very little time to have an impact. OK, he very nearly scored but it was the wrong decision to bring him on then when it was extremely likely it was going to penalties.

Plus the VAR was crap. Never a deliberate handball, so we should’ve won.

Thats what i thought. If you a moving from left to right, your momentum is imainly n one direction, all the penalty taker needs to do is anticipate that correctly and its easier to score, as you cant move the other way so quickly. However, if you stay in the centre it has to be less predictable to the penalty taker and must be more difficult to score. But what do I know

Ironic that the referee was Roger East, the referee who failed to spot the Watford handball goal last season.
