The cheapest house in Britain is set to be auctioned off with bids starting at just £1. The three-bedroom property, which has no reserve price, is on the market for less than a morning coffee after being severely fire damaged in 2015. But anyone with a taste for DIY or building and renovation experience could be sitting on a goldmine if they snap it up close to the starting bid.
Oh, and there’s no council tax to pay due to its current condition. Bonus. Although there have been £1 auctions in the past, many of these are sold by councils – meaning the new owner has now been able to rent or sell after purchase. But this property was acquired by private Bury-based house buying firm, Property Saviour, which allows the winning bidder to rent it, sell it, re-mortgage it, or even live in it themselves.

It needs a little bit of work but come on, for a quid you can't go wrong!!

I have my own home. Unlike Toby I don't have to share my fridge with eight Somalian refugees and a weird Ukranian woman who may or may not really be a bloke.

I live in a nice house in the outskirts of London. Greek area too so the falafel and haloumi wraps are great. No Somalians and I don't live with Olga, so try again next time

I have my own home too but I need to share it with an overweight manatee whose nasal whine would drive even the Dalai Lama to commit murder and two bastarding taig weans,one who has seen more helmets than WW1 and has a clit like Anthony Joshua's speedball and the other has an arse like a broken catflap thanks to the local Priest.

 

Aye, I'd love to be poor and living in a bedroom in a house with 12 other people. All that having to fit all your food into four square inches of space in the fridge and having to queue for 30 minutes every morning just to have a shower makes me question everything about of my ****ty, middle-class lifestyle.
