    Hello, team.

One thing that I’ve been going on and on about of late is the abundance of highly promising, once raced, animals that I believe Mr Charlton has and another who is a firm member of this ‘club’ runs of the morrow. HEADMAN (5.10 Kempton Park) is a product of an old Juddmonte family full of decent heritage with perhaps the most eyectaching line being the fact that his dam is half-sister to Flintshire (5 time Group/Grade 1 winner who was also twice runner-up in the Arc).

As stated above, to date, Headman has had just the one run which saw him win a Newcastle novice event at the beginning of the month by 3.75 lengths. Now I’m sure if you asked 10 different people their opinion of that race you’d get 10 different answers as the form is very hard to read and interpret but he easily dispatched a Gosden inmate, that day, who was much more experienced and had a formline of -22 going into the heat. The other 3 rivals were beaten by 10.75, 21.75 and 25.25 lengths respectively. Those bookie chappies though obviously saw something as they issued 2019 Derby odds ranging from 33/1 - 40/1 after the event. Given his breeding and the way he obliged so nonchalantly, at Newcastle, I rate Headman a decent prospect with the ability and potential to go on and be a very good 3YO.

It must also be stressed that the stable are also in very decent form right now with, at the time of writing, 7 out of their last 15 horses wining.

The downside of the wager is that Headman could ‘bounce’ after his debut run or, as ever in this type of contest, amongst the unraced brigade there lurks the ‘reincarnation of Pegasus’ (the dam of one of these, incidentally, won the 1,000 Guineas so it is a possibility). Plus, it needs to be remembered that because of his previous success Headman will be giving weight away to all his opponents of the morrow (in some cases up to 12 lbs). The Kempton event will obviously tell us a lot more but, even allowing for the impost concession, I would expect a win tomorrow evening, people.

    Good luck all.

Cor bally blinkin’ blimey those bookie chappies aren't giving much away re old boy Headman. Currently a best priced 1/2!

He's also now being quoted for the 2,000 Guineas as well by the way. Anything from 20/1 to 33's.

    That’s because he’s a highly promising once-raced animal.

Santini (look to the left and you will see his visage) likely to commencing his chasing career next Friday at Newbury, team. His journey to the 2020 CGC winners enclosure will be launched in Royal Berkshire...

Wonder if his odds will drift from the crazy short prices currently available for the festival.

I wouldn’t back him at current odds for the 2019 Festival, right now, as who actually knows (if fit and has made the necessary transition to fences, of course) where he will go??? RSA, JLT or even CGC itself (I doubt very much this, latter option, will happen but are there really a plethora of great staying chasers out there at the min??? Plus his owner is something of a ‘loose cannon’ and if Santini did romp home in 2-3 novice heats prior to the Festival I wouldn’t totally rule out him ordering a 2019 tilt).

You are probably right though and a win, next week, will see a crazy bookie chappie reaction. For me he’s all about the 2020 CGC and I hope Santini can be brought along gradually with that contest permanently in connections minds.

    afternoon,fellas!

    warwick,12 30:

MY MATE MARK ran a massive race after his long absence last time out at bangor, and the winner looks quite useful,so if he doesnt "bounce" today, will be bang there.

    chepstow,12 40:

quite a number of horses, that might be ahead of their marks currently, but SOLSTICE STAR benefited from an excellent front running ride at this course last time out,and though 3 lbr higher today, has won off higher marks in the past,so that shouldnt be a bother for him..

well, yes, was pretty useful in his prime, but i think,TEESCOMPONENTS LAD has a major shout today,as he was second to a next time out winner last time out,and a 3 lbr rise looks fair enough..

some interesting chase newcomers on show here, but one that has already good experience to use is BILLY BRONCO,who ran in various nationals last season.the question is just,is this trip long enough for him on his seasonal debut.but if he is ready to go,should run a big race here..

only the three here, but still an interesting contest.one horse, ive always particularly liked is LE REVE,who ran in such prestigious races like the bet365 gold cup etc,so im a little surprised hes the slight outsider of these.has a long absence to overcome, but his yard had a welcome winner yesterday at fakenham,so a good run very possible..
