Probably not such a “star”, no. Still a great player though, with the class to change a game. If anything, his “star quality” probably means he’s often underestimated as a football player, because a lot of people can’t see past the looks, the pop star wife, and the adverts for Nivea.
... that could be said of many players in many teams ... but Drinkwater's goal was the last in a title winning season for the ultimate underdogs .. so I suspect quite a few fans of other teams will remember it
He would have ended up playing for Man Utd, Real Madrid and England mate. His talent on the pitch, and his hard work, is the reason for that.
