Good Morning Everyone Leeds fans were in meltdown yesterday (well, almost...) after reading a tweet from Leeds journo Adam Pope that Alioski had been injured on International duty with Macedonia. There was jubilation in the streets, loud cheering was heard as far away as Southampton, and Parliament were contemplating introducing an Alioski National holiday, only for Popey to come back to us and say that he made a mistake and Alioski was fine... England legend Gary Lineker almost went on trial at Elland Road!!! “I only ever had one trial and it was with Leicester,” Lineker said on the Behind Closed Doors podcast with Danny Baker, as quoted by the Daily Record. “I’d three trials with them and I scored a few goals. “I got asked to go for trials for three clubs – Leicester, Leeds and the other might have been Celtic. “But I never went to the other two because I just wanted to play for Leicester.” Turkish media report Trabzonspor’ coaching staff haven’t been impressed with Leeds United loanee Caleb Ekuban so far this season. We could have told them that for free... Leeds scouts have been busy in Portugal, makins numerous visits to watch Porto and Benfica. The rumour is England U20 forward Chris Willock is the target. O Jogo cite English reports and say they’ve had it ‘confirmed’ that Leeds are intent on signing the player. They’re said to have watched him several times, with Marcelo Bielsa recently asking for a fresh report. Since moving to Benfica, Willock has had an up and down time, but there’s been big hopes attached because of the player’s pace. O Jogo say it’s not clear whether Leeds United want a loan or permanent deal, and there hasn’t been any official approach yet.
Whoopee whoopee woo Another player we've never heard of on loan Is this our Mitrovic signing in January
Morning all.. The rumours will start to gather pace now as we get towards the window opening so we’ll be linked with plenty of non starters I’m sure. The good thing is Bielsa will have seen a lot more British based players, he’ll have instructed Orta on what type of player he needs, the next ones in should hopefully be in the Bielsa mould so less time him having to shape them. Last break we were looking forward to a few walking wounded returning, feeling it would do us good and this time it feels painful sitting on a nasty defeat, knocked off top and more injury concerns.
Morning all With regard to Willock I made comments about him a few days ago and topped it off yesterday when more outlets were talking it up. My views above in the Transfer sticky is it's not kosher and makes no sense Toughskishitski I don't give a toss about Ekuban as he was never good enough and was probably Orta's biggest mistake. Yes he looked the real deal until he got in front of goal. Sorry but a player who has never been prolific has a purple patch one season and then snapped up as if he's Messi. Sorry Victor this goes down as a boo boo mate. Dont understand why Lineker gets a mention as he didn't come to Leeds for a trial. I once got done for taking a leak in Leicester so actually went there but not expecting to get a mention on the foxes board? The big eared dipshit socialist scumbag can fook right off
From what I heard. Ekuban couldn’t hit a barn door in training. Some players just can’t do it on match day for one reason or another... Confidence etc. Ekuban couldn’t do it under no pressure. Maybe the composure/technique required can be learnt and he seems a good guy with a good attitude so I wish him well but it’s obviously not going to be at Leeds.
Cannot for the life of me understand why Leeds United fans would 'rejoice' upon hearing the news that a Leeds United player, one of the first names down on Bielsa's team sheet, had received an injury Pathetic
Thomas must be held responsible for much of the crap of last season. He froze out Antonnson and then sent him out on loan. Antonnson critical to Blackburns promotion now in Sweden and still scoring goals, 11 so far this season. We used Ekuban instead of Anonnson who then was out injured for weeks and he came back and was then out injured for weeks again. By thi stime the season was screwed. Not forgetting what the fool did to Klich because we really didnt need him last season did we.... Dont forget about the treatment Grot got and from Thomas and ekythump. Another player abused and frozen out even though he was in a strange place with no mates stewing in his own flat. Glad to see he has got his head back together and selected for bis Country U21 squad.
Christiansen was an inexperienced average coach who made enemies within his camp, in the end he lost the dressing room
Maybe doc. Bielsa didn’t want antonsson though. Tc obviously made a blooper with klich... sounds like he blamed him for the Cardiff loss... probably feeling the pressure, like 1 mistake is reason to judge a player. Treatment of grot was worse from fans than club, I thought.
Agree with all of that mate and agree Antonnson isnt good enough for what we needbut he was last season when we fired blanks
Morning all....I can't believe that any true lufc fan/supporter would be happy with any of our players getting injured, whether playing well or not, we should be 100% behind any of our players.
This is why the longer we keep Bielsa the better Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has hailed the influence of Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa and believes without his guidance he may not be where he is in his career today. Laporte, who joined Pep Guardiola's side from Athletic Bilbao in a deal worth £57million last summer, was handed his debut by the Argentine in the Europa League for the Basque Country club in 2012 at the age of just 18.
He packed his bags last night, pre-flight And he flew from overseas Yes, he'd been hired To manage Leeds I miss the Premier League, I miss European nights But now we're playing with style and grace I'm sick and tired of time-wasting teams, playing Leeds They cannot handle the high press, can they Marcelo? Don't think it's gunna be a long long time Until we are promoted, don't resign You're not the man they think you are at home El Loco, no You're the Bucket Man Bucket Man, turning over teams at Elland Road You're the type of coach. that gives a chance to kids In fact they're playing well You found a way to improve them, yes you did All the science our players understand It's just their job five days a week Oh, Bucket Man Oh, Bucket Man From Argentina, yeah Don't think it's gunna be a long long time Until we win promotion, don't resign You're not the man they think you are at home El Loco, no You're the Bucket Man Bucket Man, turning over teams at Elland Road Don't think it's gunna be a long long time Until we win promotion, don't resign You're not the man they think you are at home El Loco, no You're the Bucket Man Bucket Man, turning over teams at Elland Road (repeat)
Evening all. Im not one to push the everyone is out to get us agenda but to see that Charlie Austin will not face disciplinary action for his match day comments after the game Saturday is a slap in the face to all connected with Leeds. The FA/ Premier League should be made to explain the difference between Austins remarks and Jannsons and why one constituted a one match ban while the other didnt? Surely the answer is not simply the club he plays for?
Pontus said we were 'robbed', which they took to imply blatant cheating against us by an official. Austin said 'they need help' accepting an honest error had been made that could have been cleared up by VAR. You can question but not accuse a ref's decision.
