I understand that people feel alienated by the grotesque amounts of money being paid in transfer fees /wages etc, but it's only the amounts that are getting bigger. The bottom line is that footballers and their Manager/Coach are human beings and they are not robots or gods. It takes supreme man-management to govern these overpaid egos and even more to get them playing the style of football that the Coach wants. Guardiola is trusted with these sums of money because of the way he has managed from the start at Barcelona. Look at Man Utd under Mourinho. They have spent over £400m on players in the past two years, but are nowhere near Man City in terms of style and winning.
It’s basically a write off the premier league this season. It used to be competitive but it’s not now. Pep can just sit there and watch the money rolling in and not do much for it this season. They don’t even need to buy any players in the transfer window as there is nothing that would improve them other than maybe Messi or Neymar. I can see them winning both the premier league and champions league this season.
