sandown,3 25: hard to choose between the two of my favourite old-timers,LOOSE CHIPS and CAROLES DESTRIER,and both have big chances here, especially the former might have needed his comeback run at carlisle, but shaped quite promising in the circumstances,so decent shout,on a track,he goes very well..
well,i am nearly lost for words, guys!this means a lot to me.ive been following him for years, and he was at his best today!!great effort..that makes up my day!
I went back and had a look at Terrefort's Mildmay win in April and the tail was protruding at the same jaunty angle. He won well that day so it would suggest with him it's just a quirk.
He may well have won, but the tail is a good indicator of other problems normally with the back but tail swishing while doing work often means there is a problem. Doesn’t mean they won’t try because they are giving animals.
What a great day for Colin Tizzard - 5 winners (SPs 4/1, 8/11, 100/30, 16/1 and 5/1) from 11 runners. Well done sir
Turns out after inspection from the on course vet terrafot was found to have an injury behind. No in depth analysis but makes sense.
I don't doubt it FP. But if I who knows nothing about horse anatomy and you who clearly knows a thing or two can spot something is amiss shouldn't the trainer have sorted it between April and his reappearance? Or is it a case that a horse can run to a certain level with a physiological problem which can't necessarily be fixed? I can't imagine jumping fences can be much fun if you've got a back problem.
Only just over a week ago that Freddy Head's filly (Polydream was it?) wasn't allowed to run in the Breeder's Cup because the State vet thought she was lame. The trainer said she has a strange knee action when she trots but when she gallops she is fine, has a really clean action. Vet refused to watch her gallop and stated she couldn't run. At the end of the day you have to trust that the trainers know their horses best and will always do right by them. It certainly seems that Terrefort requires a more detailed examination by a specialist.
Chan, this is a problem with this game that’s always annoyed me in that, everyone thinks these trainers have an in depth knowledge of horses and what they’ve about and from my experience they know **** all. This is mainly about their well-being and their schooling. I once spoke to a respected Newmarket trainer about schooling and he didn’t know what I was talking about and he covered his blushes by saying his job was to go in a straight line as quickly as possible. I was shocked by his ignorance of the basics. He blamed the lack of knowledgeable staff. I do think this is a problem throughout the industry.
Oddly this is not more detailed, this is basic.they probably turn a blind eye. I’m surprised he’s with twisters?
I'm no expert myself but here is the RP article on Polydream - my first reaction was that the vet was being over-officious - perhaps I was too hasty? https://www.racingpost.com/news/bre...rce-polydream-out-of-breeders-cup-mile/352055
Yes florida , many hands off trainers are purely ceo of an operation , often to do with family ties , a very closed and insular group , there are obviously many good knowledgeable trainers as well , but the industry isn't exactly known for competence is it ?
Henderson has form. I’ve come across his ilk over the years. All the gear, or money no idea. Years ago he had a problem with a high profile horse and after a period of time sent it to my vet. With all the money at his owners disposal. Why are they using two Bob vets with all the millions at their disposal. I’m not gonna gonna name them but anyone who knows will know my vets are the best in the world and I’m not rich but believe in paying for the best available
