All that glitters is not gold... ...but a point will suffice. https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/ledzeppelin/stairwaytoheaven.html
That was a fabulous performance except for the horrendous individual defensive errors. Attack-wise in the 2nd half we were imperious, and Grosicki really was world class. It reminded me of the Waggy era when we looked as though we could score from every attack. Campbell looks a completely different player to the one who couldn’t do anything right at the end of Slutsky’s reign. (Eg Milwall away last season when I thought he was finished - never mind not scoring, every pass went astray). Hugely enjoyable game and I can see us zooming up the league and sneaking in the play offs. De Wijs needs a bawling out from Adkins but I wouldn’t drop him. Nor Elphick. They know they cost us two points.
Very entertaining game, even more entertaining night down broad street, only trouble is my mate is 1 drink away from chanting 2-0 and you ****ed it up ... and there's only 2 of us , wish me luck ..
Good luck DJ. Sorry, but there's not much more I can help you with from here. Mebbe just point at him and scream... Villa Fan.....
I haven't seen yet their first 2 goals but the sound of it Elphick & De Wijs didn't cover themselves in glory, maybe Tom did it on purpose to put Villa off taking him back in January. However, credit to both the players and Nigel for turning it around, certainly the tweak of formation at half-time made a difference, and I am really pleased for Fraizer that he is now starting to score regularly. Pity we didn't hold out for the win, but being 2-0 down and getting a draw out of it still is an acceptable outcome. P.S. Sounds as if Turbo has finally turned his turbo on.
The improvement continues, individual mistakes undoubtedly cost us and need sorting out but to come back like that, especially against a side who were playing well themselves is encouraging.
Nige, with time, now finding a way to shape something out of the shambles that he was left with after the window shut. Great credit. It's nothing like the 2 specialists for each position supplemented by a handful of youth, all done early, he reasonably asked for. Instead, players he's left with having to adapt to playing where needed. Between the players and Nige, something reasonable has been taking shape. But so far, far away from what he wanted. Reality is that we say Birmingham have been playing well ..... but they are yet another team who are incredibly ordinary. What might have been, this season and last, given owners who cared and had any idea about running a successful football club, or had the intelligence and humility to allow someone else who knows what they are doing to head it up for them.
So basically Nige is doing a decent job with what he has..agreed. Dident Brum have some kinda transfer embargo earlier on..not sure of details??
**** know what Marshall was doing for the first, the second should have been an easy routine save and he somehow ****ed it up, and the third he didn’t even dive. Fact is any half decent goalie would have stopped at least one of those and probably at least 2 out of 3. I have no idea how bad Marshall has to be or what George Long has to do before he can get a game.
