The day I even consider acquiring a gun, will be the same day I start looking at moving myself and my family to a 'better' Country.
Geez, with 116 murders in London this year alone, we are catching up to the States. NYC's murder rate is less......I blame the liberal lefties and do-gooders...
It's controversial and complicated, but I also think there's a correlation between fewer police officers and a rise in violent crime.
QT last night 'discussed' this. The Abbopotamus was on again(I know!) and there was no consensus at all on the causes nor the solutions among the panel. Me, I favour stop and search. Ruffles feathers but saves lives
That's not true, it was a twisted stat where London had 2 months with more murders than NYC. New York has since retaken its crown, as it has for every other month ever since records began.
New York had 257 shootings in the first eight months of this year, it’s way worse than London, usually well over double the murder rate.
One of the recent years, New York has its best murder rate ever/for a very long time (can’t remember what exactly). The same year London had its worst ever. New York still dwarfed that of London.
I get that they are all about making money for the Gun Manufactures. That makes sense they are essentially a trade body for them. However, Automotive manufactures don't have a National Reckless Drivers Association promoting dangerous driving on the grounds that more crashes means more new car sales. The alcohol industry does have a National Teenage Alcoholics Association trying to get punters young. They instead fund things like Drink Aware promoting moderation and being sensible (while their individual marketing departments get me to drink more with their GoT single malts and Johnny White Walker specials) The NRA just doesn't give a ****. No concern at all for any one just saying it's every ones constitutional (god given) right to own and AR15 with an extended 100 round drum magazine and a bump stock for "home defence".
The mass shootings in America are random and often small town America. I felt very safe in NYC, although only stayed on Manhatton, but felt surprisingly uneasy in San Francisco where there was loads more hobos about and reported shootings every night we were there.
Great post.. The NRA nor the incumbent leader of the States do not give the slightest toss how many people die via the Big Iron.. The right to bare arms and the profit gained from it are absolute paramount.. People dying in the pursuit if this ideology are just worthless statistics.. And the fact that many think the answer is more guns is just crazy..
I probably said this last time this type of incident happened and I will say it again. Ban guns, I wouldn't give a **** about my right if it would save one poor innocent childs life. What's more important children's lives or your right to bare arms? Disgusting behaviour from all involved in my eyes.
Fair enough Bob...Must have misread or Newsnight was telling me a load of bollox....No change there then!
The right to bare arms. And in doing so, a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun from killing a child. Apparently. Doesn’t seem to happen often mind.
