    Milinkovic situation after sending off

“David Milinkovic needs a period of settling in. He has been fined for the red card. He was out on the training ground this morning. He’s aware that he cannot do what he did. I give everyone opportunities. If there is a situation that occurs for example a sending off. He’s been fined and we more on. He needs to now graft as much as he can.”

    Evandro return?

“He has been doing really well in training but he won’t be available until after the international break.”

    Dicko injury

“Nouha has tweaked his hamstring whilst playing for the under-23s. I wanted him to get a game but it’s very minor. He will be out on the grass next week but he will miss this weekend.”

    Angus MacDonald injury latest

“Angus MacDonald has deep vein thrombosis. He had a calf injury and he will be on the medication until March. A lot of investigation has gone on. It’s tough for him.”

“Stephen Kingsley is not available for the weekend as well”

    Adkins on Lichaj

“I’ve been really impressed with Eric Lichaj. He has a fantastic attitude and he’s a great role model. He’s a good 1-on-1 defender and he’s very mature and versatile. His character is spot-on.”

    Adkins praises Burke

“I think Reece Burke and Jordy De Wijs are going to be huge for this football club going forward. Reece is a young lad who’s growing with each game and taking a lot of responsibility.”

I feel for AM, people die of dvt's. Colleague of mine, age 30, fit as a fiddle did just that.

Didn't AM have a blood issue or something unusual like that before we signed him?

Are we just unlucky as a club with career threatening or ending injuries. Bullard, Snodgrass, Odubajo, Mason, Dudgeon are perhaps just some of the more recent.

Blood clot on the lung I think. Pretty sure it was fairly serious

It was eleven years ago when he was a youth player at Reading, I doubt it’s connected.

But he did have something like that around the time we signed him too. He hadn't played for Barnsley for a while and it was some mysterious blood issue.

Completely agree, I am sure he was "ill" or unavailable selection. I have nothing to back this up other than me seeming to slightly remember it. We could both be completely wrong and talking rubbish, but I think we are right.

Useless post of the day goes too.....

I'm not sure whether this was already been put up somewhere, Tommy Elphicks interview with Burnsy. Doesn't he speak well, and a pleasure to listen to.

I hope we can sign him come the end of the season.

I’ll almost guarantee it’s connected. Let me explain why.

7 years ago I almost died from Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism, 10% function in left lung, 0% function in my right. I was a very very lucky lad especially as I collapsed on a plane mid Atlantic, and I mean the middle. Anyway I survived, just, but earlier this year, with no flying having occurred within a month, I had the same problem, but luckily I was aware and listened to my body and got to the hospital before it got critical (I was in critical care 5 days the first time).

My point is it can happen any time for many different reasons, which may or may not be directly connected. You can also have a genetic propensity to blood clotting due to what’s called Prothrombin Mutation or Thrombophilia or Factor II Mutation, which basically means you have a higher likelyhood of developing blood clots.

So McDonald may have this issue and hence it’s an ongoing situation which has to be managed for the rest of his life (I’m on a daily blood thinner called Apixaban for instance).

Other than clots forming due to injury or surgery, blood clots usually form in the calf’s as DVT. So him having calf issues is consistent. The calf muscles act as blood pumps to assist in blood being moved back up the legs. If for whatever reason there is inactivity in the calf’s there is danger of clots forming and then possibly moving up to your lungs or neck/brain, the movement and lodging of the clots is called embolisation.

You can live a normal life and do many and most things thank God, but heavy contact sports are not recommended, and hence there is a chance his career may be finished unfortunately.

The thing is, this problem is a whole lot more common than people realise, and affects young and old alike.

Happy birthday - you would be entitled to a Concession Season Ticket at Hull City.... if any of those things actually existed....
