Good news for you then. What was the problem with Hunter? Aside from the fact that our whole Academy escalator seems to be pretty much broken Going to need a new Football Director before we can consider changing the manager
Having slept on this I wake with complete clarity We have been on a decline basically since Cortese left. Our best talent has all gone, our best managers have gone, our academy has declined and our football has turned to crap. How much and exactly what Reed actually did is irrelevant he is responsible for it all. There’s been a suspicion of toxicity around the club for 3-4 years and now we will see if it can be rooted out and replaced.
While you are here Laces, would you care to elaborate on what you knew about Reed that made you dislike him so much?
There have been some appalling decisions made at the club, the critical one for me was the Koeman departure. In many ways it was the point at which we accelerated downhill. I’d wager that was all Reed and egos clashing. The 10s of millions that have been wasted since then make the money Koeman wanted pale into insignificance. After that we have been unable to keep players, sign our key players and seemingly attract good management. I never believed we had our eye on these amazing managers and players who turned out not great, I’ve suspected for a long time the club wasn’t an attractive proposition for talent at any level and we could only get what we got.
Got to stay with Sparky in his present slot. Too much change takes too long to put together and we don’t have much time. The options mentioned on this site for a successor to MH should that step even be considered, leave me cold I’m afraid.
So we lose to Watford at the weekend and MH is out the door to then? Could be an interesting Xmas and new year at SMS.
We need to be fully behind the team. We need it to be intimidating for Watford, and make the ref question every decision that's not for us. We need to win this one, anything else, I just don't want to contemplate.
Hopefully we get behind what made us such a great and highly thought of club with this news. We need to be doing all we can to strive for success with our youngsters breaking through.
Just seen this. He made some great decisions early on but has needed to go for a while. We need to get rid of Krueger and bring someone in with a bit of leadership. Our invisible owners need to poke their heads out and say hello.
Didn’t appreciate Ralf Rangnick was back in as manager of Leipzig or he would be the obvious dream appointment for a director of football(if such dreams ever took place) Will be interesting to see how Dan Ashworth does at Brighton, but he seems more a chap who likes to set things up, but we already have the facilities in place, what we need is someone with a more updated football vision to lead it. Personally I’d like an advocate of the higher energy game we saw under Pochettino
