Was just saying on the NUFC board that he can look back at a successful career in the PL, but more important things have arisen unfortunately. His son will go through pain but I am confident with the love and care being shown by his family, and the right treatment, that he will get through it.

All the best to his son, himself and the rest of his family.

So'd you'd wish the son of a mass murderer cancer? because of what his dad done? that would still be punishing an innocent person you ******

Can anyone provide any substantiation around Steed's son being ill?? I haven't heard anything "official", so until that is forthcoming I will hope and pray (as for anyone) that such a devasting turn of events has NOT befallen a child and his family.

He wouldn't wish cancer on anyone apart from mass murderers.

Haway man, that one wasn't difficult.

Syd, I have a natural distaste for Twatter as so much total tosh is spouted via that channel. However, Henry Winter is a commentator that is held in high regard, and I can only fervently desire that he is wrong. I'm sure everybody here wishes the whole family well if true.

To be fair it probably wasn't the most well thought out comment by me there. The mass murderers deserve no sympathy, for instance who had sympathy when Bin Laden died? Also you just wonder if his son has cancer how long he's had because he never seemed to be the same for Sunderland, hope I'm wrong. Just out of curiosity how old is Malbranque's son.

As a player he was one of my all time favourites! Didn't get too many goals but he did everything else to absolute perfection <ok>

But there are far, far more important things than football including this. Hopefully his steed jr. has a speedy recovery so they can all get along with their lives. Fingers crossed...
