Probably the same reason you took on Toby for a pittance when Madrid let him go and no one else bar the saints wanted him. He's still relatively young and improves your team as a very good transfer fee (zero in this case)

If we think that about him then of course we should sign him. But I'd say Ramsey is a 10 to 1 shot at best. Even if I discount Dembele then he has to get in the team ahead of Winks and Sissoko both of whom are massively underrated by fans.

I don't even think we'll get Ramsay to be honest, as much as it'd be funny to see him sign just to piss off the gooners, I think he'll either sign a new deal after Arsenal decide to cough up the dough or end up at you lot (Kovacic replacement once his loan ends).

On the wages front we are starting to pay a competitive salary, a number of our first teamers are now earning over £100k, with Kane earning £200k. The next step is to start trying to bring in those big money players who instantly improve us, the new stadium should help towards paying for those types although there still should be dough at the moment to splash big on one or two players in January. We haven't had a January this crucial for a long time. If we fail to strengthen and then suffer as a result in the business end of the season, could be a **** summer for us with a few key players departing.

Winks has potential. He was excellent last night when he was on (he generally doesn't play like that imo) and sissoko is a dogsbody to run around a lot. None of these two have Ramsays goalscoring ability or creativity and as a player right now, i would have him over sissoko and winks.

Now whether you want to play him as a CM is a different matter as i'm not sure he's disciplined enough for that role but then again he was under Wenger.

On a free transfer and reasonable wages though is a no brainer

If he was willing to take reasonable wages, then he wouldn't be leaving Arsenal.

maybe he doesn't want to stay there? Maybe he's waiting to see who finishes where and wants to play CL footie?

Likewise beggars can't be choosers, if arsenal are only considering giving him reasonable wages and one one else wants him except for reasonable wages, theres chances that he could play for you, especially if Emery doesn't play much (which currently he's not a first team player)

I genuinely do think Ramsey's situation with Arsenal is more down to principle than the actual money, although I'm not naive to the fact footballers are greedy ****s.

If you're Ramsey and currently earning £100k (that's a presumption by the way) and you see Ozil bag a £350k deal, you're gonna be thinking "I want some of that". If the club are then seemingly refusing to meet those demands, you're then going to feel somewhat disrespected that the club doesn't value you highly enough, especially when you're the longest serving player there.

Wouldn't surprise me that if he does definitely leave at the end of the season, he'll eventually accept a deal that likely isn't much more than his current deal at Arsenal, so long as it's a deal that puts him in parity with top earners at his new club.

At least that's my theory anyway, probably wrong, lol.

well he won't have a choice if no one else offers him much more than what he is on now (unless he doesn't want to play anymore). Out of either sending a message from arsenal or not looking like a mug (ramsay/arsenal), i don't see him signing a new one if its for as much as he is on now.

Put this question in the right thread

Are there any suggestions out there on how much Dele is getting (and from what). I've heard 50k up to 90k. I would assume he is on more than that now?

Sissoko has been pretty good almost every time that he has had the chance this season.

Way better than previous efforts for sure. He's been pretty good a few times, not sure about almost every time personally.

One dodgy one as far as I can remember, barca? My memory is not what it used to be, I'm going to have to smoke some of that dona-baccy to refresh the old brain cells before Alzheimers sets in.

Tbh i can't remember a stand-out bad one (i missed most of Barca, luckily?). I'd say he's had 2-3 decent games and the rest have just been average.
