2 winners from 4 rides at Stratford today, 96 winners and 162 places from 315 rides so far this season for a winning strike rate of just over 30%.

He seems to be a jockey who divides opinions but you certainly can't fault his work rate. Does anyone think he might break the magical 300 mark this season? Of course it will depend upon the weather but to be just shy of 100 at the beginning of September must give him a shot at 300? He must surely also be the punters pal with that strike rate?

What do people think of AP?

AP in my opinion, is a living legend.
In a world where most sports (inc Horse Racing) are under scrutiny in terms of cheating, you cannot fault AP's never-say-die attitude

Record speaks for itself. Not as pretty to watch as Walsh or some others but very effective.

I feel in the little meetings e.g. Plumpton doesnt always puts 100% in like it doesnt really matter. Races he does put 100% in, he is very good works hard maybe a little too hard sometimes!!

His winning ride on Wichita Lineman in a handicap chase at Cheltenham a few years back was simply breathtaking. At no stage other than the line did this horse ever look like winning. Every time I watch I remain convinced he can't possibly get up, even three strides from the line.

AP McCoy really is exceptional. You often hear that Ruby, Barry Geraghty, and others are better "horsemen", whatever that means, but if I had my last tenner on a NH horse there's no-one other than AP I'd want riding it.

Oh that's harsh -I've never really found that though i suppose he is prone to the odd mistake now and again due to his intensity. That said, I'm guessing you have examples which i probably haven't seen so it's fair enough.

The one jockey that I'd level that comment at is actually Frankie Dettori.

If i owned a horse he would be the last jockey i would use.A bit too harsh for my tastes.
But you cant argue with his record
