Just had the misfortune to bump into our Moderator tonight on the train home. At present he is in Brixton. #prayforMrvanGerwen.
Violent scenes at the Edinburgh derby last night, where the odious ginger Neil Lennon was felled by a 2p coin thrown from the crowd. That’s really disappointing news...didn’t anyone have a 50p to chuck ?
Just watched the highlights, including Alex Dyer discussing tactics with Steve Clarke. I stood in front of him for part of an U-18's match once and it was an education. The guy can spot a player alright.
I hope Steve Clarke stays up there & builds something long term. He has been tempted by other jobs before & the moves haven’t worked out. Rangers are faltering.
I was told recently that Clarke supported Killie as a boy, so there must be hope that we can keep him for a while. He is clearly enjoying himself there. Maybe he'll look at what happened to Terry Butcher's managerial career after he was tempted away from Caley, where he was hugely popular and successful, and also loved the lifestyle.
Lennon was hit by a £1 coin. Who says the Scots are tight? Ah well, time to get last year's poppy out so as I don't have to spend a pound on a new one.
I hear now on the news that remoaners are preparing to declare the EU referendum null and void, something about corruption in funding the 'Leave' campaign. I would not be surprised if whoever loses the next General Election doesn't make the same claims. Corruption, vote rigging and fake news is everywhere these days. Perhaps democracy itself is becoming obsolete.
Well done to Sports Minister Tracey Crouch for resigning as a matter of principle over FOBTs. The Government sneaked out the news in the Budget that the cap will not be reduced from £100 to £2 until next October ....completely outrageous and a naked money grab because of the tax they garner for HMT. As a regular visitor to bookies, I have witnessed so many lives literally being destroyed by FOBTs. The idiot Blair had no business introducing them to our High Sts. The next time I see Tracey, hopefully next week, I will shake her hand.
