Seri ended up at Fulham because he is over rated. It’s premature to write off Dembele and Wanyama. Winks is a fine player. I don’t understand why you can’t see that.

Gentlemen, lets have a bit of perspective please, I realise that it's easy for an outsider, and there is alot of heart and passion on display here, but I have seen quite alot of your games this season, and yes it's true you are not firing on all cylinders at the moment. It should not be all doom and gloom either.

You have a very good squad of players, you lost none in the summer, and in many respects that is why none came in. You have 2 good players for just about every position maybe a 4th centre back and another Dembele (if there is such a thing) being the only gaps.

You are have won 7 out of 9 league matches, and dominated 2/3 of your champions league matches, a mixture of bad luck and bad decision making has cost you dearly in Milan and Eindhoven matches where 9 times out of 10 with those levels of performance you would have won.

Now I am not going to say that you will finish top 4 this season, but you will be very close if you don't, just think back a few years and think - where were Spurs under Ossie with Teddy, Jurgen, Sicknote and Barmby - mid table thats where you were with great players but no consistency. I see a different Spurs now a team that is consistent a team that generally wins alot more matches than it loses, a team with a bright future in a brand new stadium that will be the envy of many and that is why the media is constantly down on you, the journalism of envy - Stick it with Spurs fans I think it may well be a rollercoaster for a while yet, so enjoy the ups and don't get too down with the lows.

I wouldn't be too happy if I was a travelling fan now. A lot of money being spent for many let downs.

Seri walks into our XI blindfolded. In just 9 league games at a far inferior side to Tottenham, he's already matched "fine player" Harry Winks for goals and assists, Winks however has played 44 league games. For me, Winks is our answer to Jack Wilshire, fans love him and want to believe he's great but the stark reality is he doesn't make any other top ten side's XI.

As for Dembele. It's hardly premature when for 14 or so months he's been substandard and unable to complete the full 90 minutes on a regular basis. To quote the well respected Belgian journalist, Kristof Terreur: "He doesn't want to sign a new deal. It's more a physical issue than a financial issue,”. “He's been struggling a lot with small injuries and he feels his body can't cope with another season in the Premier League". This was said during the summer, if that doesn't ring alarm bells for you then I don't know what will. It's a damn shame for what it's worth, Dembele was phenomenal for us for a few years but sadly time and injuries have caught up with him.

And finally with Wanyama, there are more and more whispers that he's got a chronic injury similar to what Ledley had, he may well never get back to the level he was at in the 16/17 season. We've waited over a year for Vic to get back to that level, how much longer can we realistically afford him?

We need a big overhaul in CM, Power. When you look at the strength in depth we have in attacking midfield compared to what we have in central midfield, it's chalk and cheese.

Of course, you're right and we will. I'll stick by my club no matter what but it doesn't make the individuals immune to criticism, where and when it's due.

Over the last 5 years, there's been very little to grouse at. The club has improved immeasurably on the field and off it. It's been a fabulous effort but this summer something went tits up and it happened after we saw off Real Madrid's attempts to take Mauricio Pochettino. That should have reinvigorated us and pushed us on. It didn't. We wanted and badly needed players in midfield, supposedly had money to spend, allegedly made offers and approaches and failed to land any of them. We became the only PL club not to make a signing in over 25 years.

Probably linked to that failure, we failed to move on any of about 5 or 6 players that we wanted to. That's a considerable failure, even in a difficult market. Our manager talked about being brave and this being a time to reflect the new stadium in our ambitions. That hasn't happened and the club looks to be mired in problems and lacking leadership and direction. It's open season on us in the media and the club remains silent.

Daniel Levy needs to get out in front of the cameras and earn his corn. Puff out your chest and point the way to the future, show some leadership and get everything going again. There are times for studied silence. This isn't one of them. I know that's not about yesterday's game but I sense that result was potentially the straw that broke the camel's back. Crowds at Wembley are waning and more and more, I hear people saying that they're done with it and aren't coming back there. If the current rumours are true and it'll be January at the earliest before we 'go home again', action needs to be taken now to get us there in as good a state as possible.

Anyway, that's my view..........and as always, COYS!

I don’t think goals and assists are a sensible measure of a cm/dm like Seri. The CIES rankings have him outside the top 100 over three months. Winks is in the top 16 over the last month, he didn’t play enough to get rated before that. Dier is in the top 10.

You need centre midfielders to chip in with goals and assists or at least be involved with the build up play. Since Dembele's decline, we haven't had that.

What's the CIES rankings and what is it based on if not goals and assists or chances created?
If it's things like successful passes, I can understand why Winks will be near the top as he makes X amount of backwards/ sidewards passes every game with the odd forward movement a rarity.

I won’t try to summarise but it measures defensive work as well as attacking work. There’s a reason Seri ended up at Fulham and it isn’t that he’s an excellent player. It’s that no big club wanted him because they do analysis like this.

Brian I am certainly not questioning your right to crtiticise - we are football fans its what we do

Just for perspective I followed my team to Plymouth on Tuesday I am on leave and a friend suggested that as it was a while since we had been on a long trip and as away form has generally been better than home I thought OK so off we went to be served up possibly the most heartless and gutless performance I have ever had the misfortune to see and I have seen some rubbish Gills sides - The current side has won 3 matches this season and Tuesdays nights game was so bad that the chairman has offered 2 free tickets for a home game to every Gills fan that went!

I'm pleased to hear that your chairman is to 'recompense' you and the other Gills fans with free tickets. It won't change the hurt - I know, I've been in the crowd to see us concede 7 at Anfield and 8 against Derby at The Baseball Ground. However, being appreciated is always a good thing, especially when times are toughest..

<laugh>. Dembele and wanyama of 2 years ago i would happily agree. Nowadays one is about as useful as diaby and the other is good for 30 mins.

Hard to improve on sissoko <laugh>

To be fair hes been smashing it recently. He definitely deserves to be starting and hes been a big difference maker. He has had these purple patches in the past but hes been one of your best players this season. Keep this up i will be eating my words real hard. Hes always had the technicals and the hard work but hes adding consistency and hes being really direct when before he used to hold it up a bit

Not sure how much his hip injury is preventing poch making him a full starter

Forget the doom and gloom, if we beat Citeh on Monday then everything is forgotten. That is the beauty of football, you can rip it all up and start again without too much pain.
