You do right to be cautious - group of us went to the Black Forest last year, we don't usually do motorway riding but, you're on a 1000cc bike so it would be rude not to have a quick razz on an autobahn, after pinning the throttle, and when I had the bottle to glance down at my speedo, I was doing an indicated 257kph; I was really enjoying the buzz of it right up until a sports saloon (no idea what make) went past me as though I was stationary! In that instant I lost my mojo nd had to throttle back to a more sedate speed ..... **** the autobahns in the future
Lol similar happened to me and a mate in his Celica. Tanking along around 130 mph. Cosworth shot past like we’d stopped. Mental.
Thats fine. I just really liked it in a fun, silly sort of calling Adkins a twat sort of way, but I'm happy that people have their own opinions.
The autobahns are ridiculous. We drove up to Stuttgart a few years ago and whilst the Mrs nodded off I nudged the car up to about 130. Cars were flying past as if I was stood still - this on roads very similar to the A63. Porsche museum was well worth a visit though.
I recently had my car remapped (Stage 1). It's a decent performance upgrade for the money and you can feel the difference when accelerating. Bloke said Stage 2 would be better, but it's more money so I'm going to hold off. Plus my child needs to be in it, might not be a practical dadmobile.
Whereabouts did you go? I’ve used Quantum before - quite good. It also improved fuel efficiency for me.
It's where you get your car's computer altered to increase the performance of the car (the factory settings don't use the full performance capabilities of the engine, to improve emission results etc).
As OLM said, the factory settings on the car limit the potential output of the engine. Each stage of the remap unlocks more potential from the engine. It's completely road legal, but it does invalidate the warranty on the car (I waited until mine ran out to do it). I have a SEAT Leon FR, it went from 147 BHP to 181BHP, a noticeable difference. A1, they always give you a quote beforehand and there's a warranty with it too. I'd fully recommend them.
