Ok we are working hard and the players are an honest group. I get that. Sometimes you get a bit unlucky with injuries and no one can say the injuries to the two centre backs didn’t affect the team defensively. We re organised but got caught at the death again. The squad though is riddled with injury prone players and is just not strong enough for this division. We have had three years of Ehab meddling in football matters culminating in Hull City being expected to compete over a season when six players down. His dad said when he came here that he knew nothing about football and that he would get someone in who did. He got Brucey and let him run the club with his management team and we did ok. He even said Bruce was expensive to appoint but as he knew he knew nothing about football he at least employed someone who did. Ehab knows nothing about football and he is expecting a threadbare squad to compete in a division that is very hard work in the amount of games played. He will not be the one who gets injured and as tired players get injuries that they have to play on with we will see some more serious injuries when the cold weather comes. Everyone feels let down by the family and I bet Nigel does too. He has been given a very bad hand by a man who does not know football or has any respect for the game or the demands of the game. We need an owner who understands what is required for survival in this league. Without one we are done.
Mick would defo call a spade a shovel.. TBH...We could have any manager you care to name and it wouldn't make much difference.
Duffs. Nige is not a manager, he is a head coach. He does not have the say on players he needs. He identified players he was keen on in the summer but was not able to get his top targets. In the end he has been given players at the end of the window. This isn’t a bad system if you have a quality recruitment team with the money to make things happen. Me, I prefer a manager who identifies who he wants and the owners go and get those targets. Ok you won’t get them all but in the end you should get a core of who you want. This current system at our club is just ****e and purely money based. I feel sorry for Nige, he has been dealt a crap hand and we will never know if he was any good as a head coach anyway. Whatever though any manager or head coach who is six players short is going to be up **** creek whatever the title.
Don't disagree with that...........NA's record at the Scunts was good....His record, taking Saints from L1 to prem in two seasons was out of this world.. He had resources at Saints and built a good squad. At City he's got JACKSON $HIT to play with...Give any manager/coach this squad and try making a silk purse out of a thingy.
His record at his last two clubs was very poor.... Whatever you think about Nigel answer this simple question. Would Mick McCarthy be getting more out of these players? 100 percent yes!
I'm worried Martin is already becoming a target. We have absolutely no patience with strikers at this club, which is weird because we're not exactly accustomed to having loads of good ones in recent years. But this guy has an excellent record. He's shown over multiple years he's a top player at this level, and he's still only 29. He's also exactly the kind of target man which we always seem to lack. Yes he's not scored yet but werew clearly not a scoring team at the moment so let's not write off the new striker immediately. He's won penalties, created goals and set up glorious chances we should have scored like that one for Lichaj at the weekend. The goals will come I'm sure, but in the meantime having someone with his physical threat who can play up front on his own is an asset to us.
Agree. Without Martin we wouldn’t even have the two penalties that have been the only goals in ten hours of football.
I think most reasonable fans don't dislike him. We aren't suited to him at all. Both our wingers like to cut in a lot. We lack any real width and get so few crosses into the box. You can see how annoyed he was getting due to lack of quality balls. I like him, clearly a good striker stick with him
To be fair I think Martin has done alright. He’s another striker who needs to play in a pair. He’s often, as are others we’ve tried in the lone striker role totally isolated. He has won us both the penalties (from memory) that Bowen converted.
I doubt if Martin will be bothered if he gets stick...He's on loan...The lack of partners up top is hardly is fault and I doubt if he'll be losing any sleep worrying.
I listened to the game and feel very sorry for the supporters that went, it sounded like we deserved a point at least but as usual we have nobody that can score goals. If we don't get another player like Harry Wilson in January then we are definitely going down. I must admit I have become a bit disconnected from Hull City recently. It is just way to depressing.
