Next time put a deep sea diver in so it at least helps you know a bit about what you're talking about.
Maybe no team is going anywhere then, because despite being bottom, don't think anyone has hammered them.
You’re right I have no idea. So I’m going to ask for help from an expert Q1. Does he get a birds eye view from the roost?
Q2. Does it take years and years of experience to make such astute observations or would I just need a coaching badge to pick this sort of thing up? Hopefully the Leeds coaching staff read your comments so they can work on getting keepers to put their hands up
They have also won an away game already, so we can't gift them that, 2-3 at Swansea. The worst results for them tend to be away from home and their worst defeats have been by 2 goals, Derby, Hull, Boro and QPR, all 2-0.
Watch the goal we scored again and remind me why playing out from the keeper doesn’t work. Twelve passes, the 13th touch was a goal, two passes back to the keeper it was a goal and build up worthy of any PL team. Saiz might give the ball away a few times but what a superb pass to set the goal up with a simple cross.
It was the only quality move of the game. There weee numerous times the ball was played around and back to BPF four or five times. Was awful to watch and his distribution was poor all day. It was actually Blackburn pressuring our players that prevented us playing it out on most occasions. Some coaches seem to have twigged how to stifle our game now
Lets not get too despondent about a loss, ¼ of the way through the season, or more and lost 2. So if we keep this up 8 losses in the season, automatic slot. But using the same logic we will have 20 draws, as we have 5 now. So in my opinion it's the draws that will kill our promotion chances. Cardiff and Wolves had about the same number of losses as draws last season.
Bielsaball actually requires the opposition to press you to be really effective. The idea is that they get sucked forward and leave Gaps behind to exploit. The flaw to me in our set up for this is that the opponents press will obviously require some balls to go long, and having a team of dwarves makes this fruitless for us. I think it’s because if this that teams are prepared to risk committing extra men to the press to help stifle our play. Bpf’s distribution was obviously just terrible because he’s the worst keeper in the history of football, but that aside our magnificent defence sold him short with some rank passes in addition to poor positional play and none existant set play marking at times yesterday. Not a good day at the office.
But we “can” do it when the players are on their game, it worked and it’s what Bielsa wants to see them doing more often. The Blackburn players tried to pressure them but we were too good on this one passage. Remember we had a somewhat patched up back 4 Berardi out of his early season position, Ayling and Douglas missing. I’m not claiming we were great yesterday and I admit this is the only clip I saw but I’d prefer to see this work like it did than to boot the ball long and “hope for the best”. Teams might have worked us out but get it right and it matters not as that passage of play proved.
Of course we want to see that style working and it likely will against Ipswich and forest hopefully, but it’s clearly not working often enough. 9 points from last 21 simply isn’t anywhere near good enough and it was against average outfits. If you can find a full 90 min recording of yesterday’s performance and you’ll see how seldom we managed to play it out from the back.
We've been bang average for a while now whilst showing flashes of genius. Let's hope we can refind the form that sent us top and scared the rest of the league something silly
Surely if we’re as good as we’re supposed to be, we’ll pick up six points this week against two lower teams. That would likely move us close to top
Yeh, last exciting performance was away at Sheff Wed. Sides have better game plans now they’ve seen more of us, and we’ve been missing influential players. This year’s bad is still a damn site better than last year’s bad though.
I would agree and these are 6 points you would expect anyone there or there abouts at the end of the season
You can’t say that in this league sadly. Forest got played off the park at home to Millwall then went to Boro and won at a canter. But yeh, it’s two home games and you’d hope for 6 points. 4 wouldn’t be a disaster.... less than that and ‘last one out close the windows’
