Just read that. What a joke. It was Carragher that said it too.

As far as i can figure this nation league thing.

england celebrating this win in spain..... there are 4 league matches? we have played 3 and i thought played spain twice so now both spain and england play croatia in november.

In reality is HIGHLY likely spain will beat croatia so..... england are celebrating finishing 2nd in a 3 horse race and actually go out of the Nations league (unless if spain draw and england win i suppose)

    so... big deal...

It's a league structure mate, they don't "go out". The celebration is more about not getting "relegated".

as it always was. our season evaporates into nothing due to internationals while others pull players out of duty.

Definitely. But finishing second in a group with Spain and Croatia is better than I expected them to do.

Having said that, I didn't even realise England were playing Croatia on Friday until yesterday <laugh>

true, though Croatia are a shadow of themselves now. even 3 month later!

England could be on 1 point alongside Croatia or whatever. it's not too bad.

but equally it's you ain't winning anything

the point I want to make is while.germany were **** at world cup they won confed cup and expected to get to sf min and maybe win world.cup in Europe.

same expectation prob existed in Brazil, France, Spain....

England are celebrating finishing 2nd in a preliminary group albeit in division a of this league.

yet the press would have you believe we I world.cup and this win means we can and should win euros.

    madness.

It's a win, it was a good start and got 3-0 up great but we need 3-2 Which is annoying.

I would prefer to be thinking how far along we are towards building more ability at all levels. England have half decent defenders and half decent forwards but lack midfield.

won underage tournaments... all is well... when will the expectation rise above oh my god we actually beat Spain in a game and be at... well we won but we prob do t win group here

0-0 v Croatia was too quickly forgiven.

tjat draw should have been win and England should be top... dimples.

It's not a preliminary group either. It works the same as any other league with promotion and relegation. Only difference is, the team finishing top gets to play a pointless four team tournament.

Don't want the pointless tournament so don't finish top. Don't want to get relegated and play **** teams either. Second is the best option

Brazil vs Argentina: [BBC live text 19.35]
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson enjoys the ball at his feet, but there is a fine line between confidence and overplaying it.
On this occasion, with the ball inside his six yards box, it is time to go long, but the Brazil number one takes a few too many seconds on it and Angel Correa comes in with a challenge.
Fortunately for Alisson, he gets the ball away in the nick of time to avoid an embarrassment.
