Syd, if I may make two observations:

1 - As a mod, you are the best I have seen on any forum. Experience and your personality probs make you that. I am not at all surprised that you were headhunted for higher things.

2 - You have the luxury of being retired so you can devote more time than most of us to keeping an eye on things. Anybody who is working probably could not do as effective a job. Therfore may I suggest that we appoint two or even three additional mods. Maybe the vote could be our three nominations from the final list of candidates.

I admin another forum (not related to footy) so I am not in the reckoning as my time is squeezed.

My nominations would be MackemsRule, BruceysBeak, Cest and ChatsNoir

Great idea Danny! There's nothing in the rule book that states we can only have 2 mods is there?.....and I go with your nominees, good choices as long as they are happy to do it?

MR and BB... they both seem to be of "compos mentus". Not one or the other... Both. Good humoured, cracking lads from what I can tell. You three would be a dream team!

I'd love to be able to put my name forward but I seem to be starting out on a crusade against he who shall not be named (except by his source) and therefore couldn't be considered as level headed and impartial.

 

I vote Niall just for the fact that he enjoys making christines life as miserable as possible ha ha

Seriously MR, BB or Cest for me too the all seem to have the temperament for it and the time apparently, lol.

 

Mackemsrule and Beaky seem to be popular, they both get my vote. is there any reason we couldn't have them both?. i think that it's been said before that more than one mod might be needed.

just a little edit here to congratulate sydit's well desreved. and also to say that after looking around the other boards that we have the funniest, wittiest, most sensible on here, so congratulations to you all (except B_C)

 

Agree with 56Danny in that we are lucky to have you and that you have time to give. MackemsRule, BruceysBeak, Cest and others are excellent candidates but could they fit this into their life/work? Maybe they can and if so great, but if not a full time role then I can't see anything wrong with a "jobshare" - and it provides a diversity of opinions to bounce thoughts off if an issue comes along?

 

Before we decide who is going to take over the role - surely we need to know the fee that we will receive for the mest mod on the block, we might do a Liverpool (please don`t worry I won`t use the C word) and get two decent mods for the price of one (even if one might have to sit out for the next few months whilst his hair grows)

It has to be the Beak for me (I am before them this morning anyway!!)
